Pursuant to the Court’s Minute Order dated July 3, 2019, the Parties submit the following
status report in this Freedom of Information Act (“FOIA”) case. The Parties hereby state as
follows:
1. Plaintiff has requested records from the FBI regarding Hawaii’s requirement that
firearms purchasers, registrants, and owners be included in the FBI’s Rap Back database. See
2. The FBI has not yet completed its response to Plaintiff’s FOIA request. The FBI
has completed its search for potentially responsive records. As a result of the FBI’s search, the
3. The FBI will now process the potentially responsive records and expects to begin
production of any responsive, non-exempt records to Plaintiff by September 30, 2019, with
additional productions made at the end of each subsequent month. The FBI anticipates that it
will be able to process these records at a rate of approximately 500 pages of records per month.

4. In light of the above, the Parties respectfully request that the Court permit the
Parties to file a joint status report no later than October 15, 2019 further updating the Court
regarding the FBI’s progress in responding to Plaintiff’s FOIA request. The Parties’ status report

[PROPOSED] ORDER
In light of the Parties’ joint status report, it is hereby ORDERED that the Parties shall
file another joint status report on or before October 15, 2019, further updating the Court
