The diagrams below show the stages and equipment used in the cement-making

process, and how cement is used to produce concrete building purposes.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and
make comparisons where relevant.

The process of concrete and cement production is illustrated in the diagrams

above. To create a concrete block, necessary for any kind of building or structure,
it is necessary to mix cement, water, sand and gravel in pre-established
amounts. Half of the mixture is made from gravel, whereas the other half is
composed of sand (25%), cement (15%) and water (10%).

These substances are, for the most, found in nature, except from cement that
needs to be produced by using a combination of limestone and clay. These
materials are equally added to a crusher, that creates a powder which will be
added to the mixer. The tubular shape mixer is necessary to combine the
materials in a homogenous way, in such a manner that the powder can be
subsequently heated gradually through a rotating heater. It is vital that the final
mixture is well grinded, to enable it to be mixed in the concrete mixure.

To ensure a safe and well built concrete block, these steps need to be followed
precisely or the effort made from those that are using the described product
will have been completely vane.
Comments:
Strengths Weaknesses
 Good and accurate description  Word choice/ synonyms -
of information. ‘necessary’ – important/vital;
 Relevant range of vocabulary – ‘for the most part’; ‘except
a flexible use of a range of from’; ‘added’ – passed through;
language. ‘grinded’ - ground
 Logical sentences and  Grammar – ‘added equally’;
connections between sentences. ‘tubular shaped’
 A well-organized and detailed  Unecessary comment - ‘or the
answer. effort made from those that are
using the described product will
have been completely vane’
