Overview of the information system

The information system our group are trying to build is restaurant ordering process. Since the
evaluation of this era is getting faster and advanced, therefore we need to keep it up by setting
up Information system in order to create a better place to this world. The reason why we are
building this system is because we want to minimize the time of ordering as well as to avoid
incorrect or duplicate order. In this era, our technology is already advanced in so many ways in
order to provide convenience to the people. Furthermore, by doing this system, it will actually
save a lot of cost since we are providing system to the customers which includes menu, the
process of ordering and total amount of food and beverages customers have ordered. Most of
the customers will be unsatisfied due to the bad customer service such as taking a long time to
serve customers’ food. With this system, customer will have more time to decide on what they
want to order without feeling the need to rush. Moreover, by providing this system to the
customers, we can entertain them with the built in games by only connecting to the internet.
This will lower down the complaint from the customers due to the delay of meals served.

According to the diagram 1 in the first module, the restaurant admin will double check the menu
that are included in the system so that customers have variety of food and beverages that they
can order. Secondly, after the customers have finished selecting the food or beverages that they
want, the waiter will verify the order with the customers through the tablet on the second
module. Furthermore, during the third module, the restaurant admin will receive orders from
the tables that have confirmed their order to be sent to the kitchen for the preparation of food.
In the fourth module, customers have the choice to either pay their bill through the system in
which they can pay it with their debit or credit card or they can request for the paper bill if they
choose to pay it with cash. Lastly, after the settlement of the bill, both customers and restaurant
admin will need to check out from the system. This is because customer’s information is
confidential and other customer will use the same tablet. As for the restaurant admin, they need
to check out from the current system so that they can update the menu for the next customer.
