Dear Ma’am Mallonga:

I am Mercy F. Alameda, General Manager of Alameda Farm. The farm is not only engaged
in agricultural activities but also accepts tourists for their educational tours, adventures,
overnight stays, seminars and other similar events. It is a certified learning site by the
Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) and the first accredited Agri-Tourism Farmsite in
Caraga Region by the Department of Tourism.

Currently, the farm is practicing organic farming and is advocating value added concept
which is similar to maximum utilization of farm products produced by either the farm
division or by the neighboring farms, hence organic feeds and fertilizers are being produced
by the farm workers. Among the locally produced products are cassava and sweet potato
(camote) root crops in which processing these into cassava/camote chips is seen to be a
viable undertaking of this advocate.

It is on this context that I am writing this letter to express my intention to avail DOST’s Small
Enterprise Technology Upgrading Program (DOST-SETUP) to satisfy the requirements of
equipments for processing cassava and camote into chips. This representation would like to
inform your good office that the building required for the purpose will be constructed out of
the available financial resources of this corporation.
