Graduate Geotechnical Engineer / Geotechnical Engineer

As a final year postgraduate student in Geotechnical Engineering and Engineering Geology with
15 months of work experiences in a civil engineering consulting company and persistent
performance in extracurricular activities, I am confident that I am the right candidate to be a
successful Graduate Geotechnical Engineer in Douglas Partners. Having an excellent record as
a strong advocate for Engineers Australia, I am enthusiastic about joining this innovative
company. Moreover, my current path as a master student demonstrates my commitment to gain
in-depth understanding to be able to provide solutions from the Earth's surface down.

In less than 1.5 years as a junior geotechnical engineer, I have written more than ten site
investigation reports (SPT, CPT, and VST) for building construction such as grinding station
development. At times, I was assigned to produce the structural report containing earth and
structural works recommendation that was done through a site visit, analytical modelling (Plaxis,
Slope W, STAAD Pro, etc.) and discussion with the engineering team in the company. Further
to this experience, I also liaised a diverse range of stakeholder and clients.

During my postgraduate study, I have completed Slope Instability, Advanced Foundations

Engineering, Geotechnical Models & Site Investigations and Geotechnical Engineering of Dams
courses where I gained valuable insights about remedial works for slope failure, the best
foundation options for different engineering purposes, the assessment of current dams,
conducted a geological site investigation and created a site investigation proposal through the
assignments that dealt with the real geotechnical engineering issues in Australia. Furthermore, I
will learn how to effectively use Circly software by the completion of Advanced Topics in
Geotechnical Engineering this year.

To grow my organizational skills, I actively contribute to the Civil and Environmental

Postgraduate Coursework Association (CEPCA) as the Teaching and Learning Representative
where I fluently deliver the feedbacks from UNSW students to the academic staffs at Civil and
Environmental Engineering Faculty. Currently, I am a part of PACE mentoring program where I
am mentored by a professional from my field to prepare me to enter the work culture in
Australia.

The combination of my ambition to work with Douglas Partners and my positive records in my
work experience and study make me a suitable candidate to be a Graduate Geotechnical
Engineer at Douglas Partners.

Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to hearing from you to discuss how I
can contribute to the team in an interview.

Yours faithfully,
Putri
