GOAL AND RATIONALE
Goal 1: Professional Knowledge
To implement strategies for teaching
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander
students.
I have not had any experience in a
school which has a high population of
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander
students. This teaching practicum I
hope to work with ATSI students’ to
identify the impact culture, cultural
identity and linguistic background has
on education and to develop
culturally sensitive learning activities
for ATSI students’.

To improve my behaviour
management and to develop a
classroom management plan which
encompasses a variety of positive
behaviour management strategies.
My first teaching practicum was
based in an independent school with
limited behaviour management
issues. This teaching practicum I
hope to gain experience in dealing
with challenging behaviour in the
classroom.
