ABSTRACT
Pure TiO2 is a colorless, crystalline, solid and stable. There are three
crystalline forms: rutile, anatase and brookite. TiO2 is one of the most important
white pigments. It was used in paints, plastics, rubber, paper, textile products, and
catalytic supports. So, the aim of this work is to synthesizes TiO 2 by combustion
reaction with titanium iso-propoxide as a precursor. Also to evaluation the effect of

the urea content in the final characteristics of the powders. The initial solution
composition was based on the total valence of the reagents, by using the chemical
concepts of the propellant. The obtained powders were submitted to a
characterization by X-rays diffraction, sedimentation, BET and SEM. The results
showed that the fuel content provide changes in the powder characteristics. The X-
rays diffraction and SEM results prove that is possible to obtain crystalline phase of
rutile (TiO2) by combustion reaction with high purity and control morphology.
