Oleifera Soap

ABSTRACT-
For this project, it comes to my mind that I will make a liquefy soap which I called

Oleifera soap, Oleifera is the scientific name for Moringa. The original extract that should be used in this
project was guava but since it is an experimental project I make use of Moringa. The purpose of this
Moringa or Oleifera soap is it contains vitamin C, protein, to prevent wrinkles and can cure acnes, also It
is helpful in protecting skin cells from damage.

OBJECTIVES:

-Knowing the effect or purpose of the soap; and

-how the soap was made

-Testing the finished product, on how effective it is, by applying on skin.

SIGNIFICANCE:

The importance of this Oleifera soap is because it contains vitamins A, B, C, D and protein where in it
can help us prevent wrinkles and acnes, and also it is helpful in protecting skin cells from damage and
help our skin to be healthy.

SCOPE AND DELIMITATION:

In Oleifera soap project, I change some of the ingredients like the scented oil and from guava to
moringa, and I also have a research on how effective and helpful the moringa to our health to prove that
it can be also use instead of guava.

RRL – LIQUEFIED SOAP

The benefits of this soap is it cleanses your skin and make it more strong from any kinds of germs
and beneficial for health care.

METHODOLOGY
MATERIALS:

-Moringa leaves or stems

-16oz. water

-4oz. sodium hydroxide (Na OH), also known as lye

-20oz. olive oil

-8oz. coconut oil

-a few spoonful of jasmine scented oil

-food colouring

PROCEDURE:

-Bring 8oz. water to boil in your pot, then add moringa leaves. Keep the water at boiling temperature
and stir.

-After half an hour, take your pot off the stove, strain out the moringa leaves, and transfer the moringa
leaf extract to a container.

-In this stage, you are going to prepare a mixture of water, oil, and your chosen scent and food
colouring (add the sodium hydroxide to this later, making your soap). Add about 8oz. of coconut oil
and 20oz. olive oil to 8oz. of water in your pot. The mixture should immediately begin to form bubble-
like concentrations of oil, especially at the surface. Cover and boil the mixture, removing the lid to stir
occasionally. The oil-water mixture should be bubbling from the heat, but better combine than before.
Stir, then add the moringa extract. Stir again, and add scented oil, and the food colouring. Throughout
this process, keep your mixture at a boil. Boil for 30 more minutes.

-Add the sodium hydroxide to the mixture will cause the temperature of your mixture up to 200
degrees F. REMEMBER TO USE PPE BEFORE ADDING OR USING THE LYE. Weigh out 4oz. of lye. Slowly
and carefully add it to your mixture in very small amounts. As you add the lye keep your face away to
avoid inhaling the fumes.

-When the mixture is no longer producing steam, turn off the stove and remove the pot from the
heat. Allow it to cool slightly, then stir it with electric blender. If stirring by hand stir it for 15 minutes.
The mixture will be like egg whites, foaming up and thickening as you stir.

-After stirring, allow the mixture to cool and settle to a more liquid form. Transfer your finished liquid
soap to a bottle or dispenser using a funnel. And there you have your homemade soap.
