Question 1: Please write a brief introduction about IIG Academy to public

IIG Academy is the formal member of IIG Vietnam, was established in 2009 with a

former name IIG Training. IIG specializes in training and teaching English for all

Question 2: Design a syllabus for Pre-TOEFL iBT course
Class size (Focus group of 10-12 high school students)
Course length: 84 hours
Level: B1+ (CEFR)
Target: B2 (CEFR)
Objectives: Build up English foundation and develop skills for TOEFL iBT for
learners.

Situation: a kindergarten class
Strengths:
- Attitude: the teacher is enthusiastic, positive, happy and humorous in the class.
He is nice and polite with all the kids
- Skills:
+ English: native speaker
+ Teaching skills:
● Catch attention: attract students by action words: hey, please,
stand up, sit down, come here, sit nicely. Besides, he uses sound
made by his mouth such as bruhhh, whistle. He moves around the
room to avoid the boredom for the children.
● Combine actions with words: he connects new words with
actions. For example, when he shows the flashcard about legs, he
acts it out by pointing at his legs or dance on his legs.
● Have the warm up game related to body parts: act out to
encourage the children’s positive spirit and emotion. Children can
not learn if they have no chance to act instead of sitting in one
place.
Weaknesses:
+ Sometimes he speaks a little bit fast, especially in the beginning, which
may make children confused.
+ Release too much energy in more than 9 minutes. In the end, he is tired
shown by his tone of voice and weak breath, which can be a drawback if
he has more than one class.
+ warm-up activity is a bit long compared to main content.
+ do not encourage team work skills among students.
+ the teacher holds only one game that is finding the card.
Solutions:
+ Speak slower
+ Control the speed and intensity of the speech so that the tone and voice is stable
+ Hold 2 games to practice learned words and build up team work skills for
students
+ Shorten the warm-up activity to 2-3 minutes
