Dia 1:

- O que precisamos saber sobre palavras em Inglês?

(Particularidades, ambiguidades e contexto)

- Parts of speech:

(Nouns¹, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, determiners, prepositions, pronouns, conjuctions,

exclamations). ¹: countable and uncountable.

- British vocabulary vs American vocabulary

- Words formation: Afixation, Compounding, Blending, Clipping and conversion,

Abbreviations and acronyms.

- Types of meaning: Polysemes, Synonyms and antonyms, homonyms, hyponyms and

hypernyms.

- Lexical fields.

- Practical activities.

Dia 2:

- What are phrasal verbs?

- What do we need to know about phrasal verbs? (Characteristics, exceptions, context

and importance).

- Do we really know to learn phrasal verbs? (The reasons why you should practice as
much as we can on the phrasal verbs, even though you do not really use them on your
speech).

- Idioms (definition and types).

- Collocations (types and importance)

- Helpful tips and techniques. (reading, watching shows with English subtitles, using
flashcards, vocabulary notebook, etc).

- Practical activities.
