Can someone shed light on Brighu Nandi Nadi technique of astrology?

Can you share with us some very

important fundamental rules of the system? Can you provide a few elaborated examples to demonstrate
how are predictions made in such a system?

It isn’t possible to explain Bhrigu Nandi Nadi in just one article, but for those who are versed in astrology
or at least have some basic knowledge, I can give a few basics and highlights of the method.

This is the horoscope as we know:

The simplest way of representing this for interpretation as per Bhrigu or Nandi Nadi is through a
direction chart. The 12 signs of zodiac are divided in directions as given below:

Aries, Leo, Sagittarius: East

Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn: South

Gemini, Libra, Aquarius: West

Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces: North

All planets pertaining to a direction are mentioned as given below:

These are written in the ascending order of their degrees. Which means, if we take North signs (Cancer,
Scorpio and Pisces) then:
Sun is the least with 00:54 degrees. Next is Rahu at 5:01 degrees, then Jupiter at 7:51 degrees and finally
Mercury at 10:31 degrees. So the order of writing will be Sun, Rahu, Jupiter and Mercury.

Retrogression in Nadi shows direction of approach. Any planet that is direct from lower degree to higher
degree. Sun would move towards the 30th degree, and so would Jupiter. Anything that is retrograde,
moves towards the lower degree. Rahu would move from the 5th degree to 0th degree. So would
Mercury (which is retrograde).

This can simply be illustrated with the below diagram:

The rules of interpretation are these:

Planets in the same direction are conjunct, irrespective of their signs, aspects etc.

Opposite directions aspect each other. North aspects South, and East aspects West.

When two planets are approaching each other, their conjunction is stronger. When they’re separating,
their conjunction is weaker. For example:

Rahu and Jupiter are moving away from each other. Rahu is moving towards Sun and Jupiter towards
Mercury. Their conjunction is the weakest because neither their sign, nor their approach is the same.

Sun and Rahu are moving towards each other. Sun will move towards Rahu, while Rahu will move
towards Sun. Their conjunction is strong, despite being in different signs.

Sun and Jupiter are moving in the same direction. Sun is following Jupiter from behind, but because Sun
is faster in motion than Jupiter. Which means, in time, Sun will overtake Jupiter. Which is to say, Sun is
closing in on Jupiter and their distance is reducing with time. Hence, Sun-Jupiter will also be a strong
conjunction.

Jupiter is moving towards Mercury and Mercury towards Jupiter. Their conjunction is the strongest.

Conjunction results are in order, they cannot break the chain. Which means:

Sun and Mercury are conjunct under the influence of Jupiter and Rahu. Sun cannot influence Mercury
without influencing Rahu and Jupiter as well. Which is to say, Sun’s (prestige) influence on Mercury
(Education) will go through Rahu (failure) and Jupiter (eventual success). The interpretation will be that
education improves after setbacks in education. Education will become good, but after struggles and
failures.

Venus cannot influence Moon without influencing Mars. So while the wife (Venus) of the person will be
gentle in nature and soft-spoken (Moon); her anger would be explosive (Mars).

All results are attained through planetary significations, and the order of conjunction aspect. For
example:

The father of the person will be highly educated (Sun + Jupiter + Mercury)

Father would have some chronic incurable health issues ( Rahu approaching Sun)

The mind would be prone to negativity and restlessness (Mars and Saturn’s influence on Moon)

The person will be educated from a very prestigious institution (Influence of Jupiter and Sun on Mercury)

The timing of events is done by taking the karakas, Jupiter as the jeeva-karaka for all life, Mercury for
education, Saturn for career, Venus for wife, etc. and moving them one year per sign to make
predictions. For example:

Mercury: The next three signs from it, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius have Saturn, Ketu and Mars
respectively. All malefics. Next to Mars is Moon. The first three years of education will be full of
struggles. Then, the institute will change and in the new school the person will start performing good.

Saturn: The person will either get fired or quit the job within a year of his joining, struggle to join a
second one, and then have a good career from the 4th year only.

Jupiter: Childhood would be stressful and not very happy. Primarily due to affliction with diseases. 13th
year onward, post completion of one cycle of 12 signs, life will improve after the loss of a family member.
Post the 24th year, there would be an accident. From the 36th year onward, life will much better.

Signs are also considered in Bhrigu Nandi Nadi, in a similar way. The qualities of Signs also get added in
the conjunction. But because it’ll make the concept difficult to understand, I have skipped it. Just add the
sign qualities to the conjunction, all results remain the same.

Retrograde Jupiter

Our Rishi’s have given many secrets in the Nadi books which show astounding results on applying to the
horoscopes. Sri R.G.Rao’s book on Bhrigu Nandi Nadi mentions about a rule regarding Retro. Jupiter
under horoscope no. 40.

“Native will gain fame in a place other than his native place.”

Which means that natives having Retro. Jup can have increase in their income and growth in fame when
they have shifted from their native place. When such natives continued to live in their native place, they
did not get income and fame which they deserved [ It does not mean that everyone having retro Jupiter
should shift from their native birth place as other yogas can also dominate in the chart, which is very
difficult to determine with our current knowledge – Editor ].
