Q1: Please explain the meaning of 'SEO' in your own understanding. Note that
we are not asking what it stands for (1 point)

 SEO is a technique to optimize a website so that it is ranked on the top of a search engines
(Google, Bing, Yahoo) by utilizing keyword and phrases that have been targeted.

Q2: Can you outline your steps of assessing whether a website is SEO
friendly? (2 points)

 We can asses the website by using GSC (Google Search Console) to determine whether the
website is mobile friendly/responsive. Second, we can use GTmetrix or Page Speed Insight to
measure the loading speed score. Thirdly, we can check the website structure by using
SEOquake. If all the three assesment results meet the requirements, then the website can be
considered as an SEO-friendly website.

Q3: How many types of meta tags are there? Can you name and provide a brief
description of each type? In your opinion, which meta tag is most important
for SEO purposes and why? (1 points)

 Types of meta tags:

Title Tag: The title of a blog or website which plays an important role because it is the basic
factor for search engines to measure the relevance of keywords that are searched by users.

Meta Description: An HTML attribute that provides a brief description of the contents of a
web page and displays a brief description of the page.

Meta Robots: The task of meta robots is to give instructions to search engines about what
they should do on a web page.

In my opinion, Title Tag is the most important tag for SEO. It is because an interesting title is
the first thing that users will see and they will click it when they are browsing about
something. An interesting title is also one of the techniques to increase CTR.

Q4: What is the number of character limitation of a meta description? (1 point)

 155-160 characters

Q5: What are the parameters you would typically consider when determining
which keywords to target/optimize? (1 point)

 Keywords Relevancy, Search Keywords Volume, & Keywords Difficulty

Q6: Why it is important to check the page speed? What are some of the
general steps you would undertake to improve sitespeed? (1 point)

 Checking the page speed is important because Google's search engine will ignore web pages
that are slow and Google will not recommend it to be on the first page of the search engine.
If this happens, it will also decrease visitors traffic and conversion rate, and also bring a bad
impact to SEO.

Some general steps that i would undertake to improve this matter are as follows:

 Use the right hosting


 Remove unnecessary plug ins
 Optimize images
 Reduce the size of the images
 Use plug in chaching
 Use CDN (Content Delivery Network)
 Optimize website database
 Fix the broken links
 Minify Javascript and CSS files
 Apply AMP (Accelerated Mobile Pages)

 Off-page SEO Techniques:

 Creating articles that can be shared.


 Using influencers or bloggers to create articles that can be linked to our website.
 Becoming writers on guest-post sites, such as Kompasiana, Hipwee, Kumparan,
Qureta, etc.
 Using social media to increase engagement.
 Utilizing social bookmarking sites with a high ranking.
 Utilizing submission forums to create treads.
 Utilizing QnA sites like Quora to make questions or give answers and then provide
links.
