Control Medium: Tryptone Soya Agar

A satisfactory result is represented by recovery of positive strains equal to or greater than 70% of the control medium
from an inoculum of 10-100 colony-forming units (cfu).
Staphylococcus epidermidis should produce colonies with a negative diagnostic reaction (i.e. pink colonies and medium).
For Proteus spp., a satisfactory result is represented by recovery equal to or greater than 40% of the control medium from
an inoculum of 1E+02 to 1E+03 cfu.
Escherichia coli ATCC®8739 is inhibited or shall produce at least a 3 log(10) reduction when compared to the control medium from an
inoculum of 1E+04 to 9E+04.
Negative strains are inhibited from an inoculum of 1E+04 to 1E+06 cfu.
