Chapter 2 “the sower went forth to sow”
1. Summary
By the parable of the sower, Christ illustrates the things of the kingdom of heaven, and the work of the great
Husbandman for His people. Like a sower in the field, He came to scatter the heavenly grain of truth. And His parable
teaching itself was the seed with which the most precious truths of His grace were sown. Because of its simplicity the
parable of the sower has not been valued as it should be. And when the Reality came, in the person of Christ, they did
not recognize in Him the fulfillment of all their types, the substance of all their shadows. They rejected the antitype, and
clung to their types and useless ceremonies. The Son of God had come, but they continued to ask for a sign.

2. New insight learned

God has given us signs, parables and scripture to light our way of life, we have a lot of access to Jesus but what we do or
many people do is reject His word and look for other answers, and that’s why many don’t live with purpose or fulfilment,
just worldly things, but God is always there to forgive us, and to love us even though we commit sin. So we must return
to Him and live in His word.

3. Specific interpretation
The moral of the Parable of the Sower is that not everyone who hears the Christian gospel will understand and
believe. Four scenarios play out for the seed sown by the farmer. The first seeds are sown along the path and
represent those who hear and don't understand.

4. Specific lesson
“‘they may indeed see but not perceive, and may indeed hear but not understand, lest they should turn and be
forgiven.’” And he said to them, “Do you not understand this parable? How then will you understand all the parables?
The sower sows the word. And these are the ones along the path, where the word is sown: when they hear, Satan
immediately comes and takes away the word that is sown in them. And these are the ones sown on rocky ground: the
ones who, when they hear the word, immediately receive it with joy. And they have no root in themselves, but endure
for a while; then, when tribulation or persecution arises on account of the word, immediately they fall away. And others
are the ones sown among thorns. They are those who hear the word, but the cares of the world and the deceitfulness of
riches and the desires for other things enter in and choke the word, and it proves unfruitful. But those that were sown
on the good soil are the ones who hear the word and accept it and bear fruit, thirtyfold and sixtyfold and a
hundredfold.”

5. summary of the insights learned.

Jesus left his throne above to save us from tribulation, but many people rejects his word and misinterpret it that’s why
we should only trust the bible. As the seeds were thrown in different areas, the seed that landed into a good soil lived
happily and able to grow and became fruitful and the other seeds that landed to the bad soil fall away. This goes to
people. So we must listen to God with open heart and don’t reject Him.
