Module 6 : To Make Rizal Obsolete

The part which tackles if the Philippines of the present time should make Rizal obsolete.

 Rizal’s two novels ( Noli & Fili ) reflect the situation of the Philippine society during the 19th
century of Rizal’s time. That story tackles different issues of the government, church, citizen,
events, and the country.
 Still, there’s no difference between the situation of the Philippines from the past and present.
There is still corruption of the government, discrimination from foreigners, even from our own
fellow Filipinos, colonial mentality, crab mentality, etc. The worst parts are various
crime/problems that our country is facing such as illegal drugs, rape, murder, human trafficking,
prostitutions etc.
 Pollutions (garbage & air) and there are still Filipinos who are illiterate because of poverty.
 As of now the Philippines is belong to developing country.
 In conclusion, our country has a lot more to improve because we are not fully developed yet.
We still have a long way to go before we became greater. It will not be an easy path and there
will be a lot of struggles.
 Solving these problems and issues will take a lot of time and effort from the Filipino citizens
itself. Therefore, even if we become better in the future, still we should not forget Rizal since he
is very important in our history, for his contributions in our country.
