One Horizon Center is a mixed used building having Office complexes and eateries around.
It is designed by Ar. Robert Stern and the corporation of the his firm.
Located in the D.L.F golf course road, It has been the biggest growing building in that area.

This is the strongest address in town. period! With DLF area on the Golf Course Road and
its periphery acquiring a snob value, The Horizon Centre, comprising office space, retail
amenities and spectacular public plaza is fast becoming NCR’s new magnet in every which
way.

Situated in the heart of DLF Phase 5, which includes the most premium residential
development in Gurgaon, the place has immediate access to New Delhi and rest of NCR via
the newly modernized and expanded NH-8 and MG Road, as well as the Delhi Metro/Rapid
Metro.

Being near metro also approves it of the L.E.E.D certification.

It has been approved by L.E.E.D for Gold certification.
It has been developed in 11 acres of the land, 25 floors covering the skyline with a
spectacular eye pleasing within D.L.F area.
Sustainable elements have been incorporated into every design detail.

From Glass to Water resources, from planning to landscaping all the aspects are related to
the sustainable design that could be incorporated by an architect, Hafeez Contractor has
kept into mind the sustainability

Common Amenities 60,000 sf of ample amenity retail space

Rooftop Helipad
Central Plaza area offering various retail options (green)
Coffee shops, Bank, ATMs, Convenience Stores (planned)

The features that aim on sustainability are :

1. One Horizon Center has been designed with the highest sustainable design features that
will make it a healthier, more productive place to work, with a smaller energy footprint.

2. One Horizon Center is designed to achieve LEED Gold Certification.

Based on the aspects of the building are contribution towards Energy, Water and Indoor
Quality.

Energy
Dual-pane high-performance glass lets in natural light and cuts heat and noise gain.
Chillers with Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) optimizes chilled water flow thereby
reducing operating costs
VAV boxes in HVAC system optimizes air flow and minimizes operating costs
Energy demand met through natural gas based power source
Atleast 14% reduction in energy demand compared to a code- standard building.

The interview had the conclusions such as :

i. On being asked, They keep the power off on Sundays to conserve energy.
ii. The sitting space is made such that the water bodies and and lush green trees are
providing the people with relaxing breeze as they eat out,
iii. The bins have a segregate system to be disposed off which can be decomposed or
not.
iv. The LEED approved glass in the building with the atrium being double height leads to
“no artificial lights” during the day time.
v. The Terrace garden on the eatery area helps in maintaining cool roof.

Indoor Air Quality

CO2 sensors ensure healthy levels of fresh air in the tenant premises
CO sensors in basements maintain indoor air quality
External AHUs with UV filtration prevent infiltration of harmful microbes into the on-floor
air conditioning systems
Low-emitting materials will be specified for paints, carpets, sealants and composite wood
products.

Water
Extensive storm water management program
On-site sewage treatment plant
Water efficient landscaping techniques
Low-flow fixtures and automatic sensors
The L.E.E.D criteria used in One Horizon Center are :

1. Sustainable site development involves, whenever possible, the reuse of existing buildings
and the preservation of the surrounding environment. The incorporation of earth
shelters, roof gardens, and extensive planting throughout and around buildings is
encouraged.

2. Water is conserved by a variety of means including the cleaning and recycling of gray
(previously used) water and the installation of building-by-building catchments for
rainwater.

3. Energy efficiency can be increased in a variety of ways, for example, by orienting

buildings to take full advantage of seasonal changes in the sun’s position and by the use of
diversified and regionally appropriate energy sources, which may — depending on
geographic location—include solar, wind, geothermal, biomass, water.

4. The most desirable materials are those that are recycled or renewable and those that
require the least energy to manufacture. They ideally are locally sourced and free from
harmful chemicals. They are made of nonpolluting raw ingredients and are durable and
recyclable.

5. Indoor environmental quality addresses the issues that influence how the individual feels
in a space and involves such features as the sense of control over personal
space, temperature control, and the use of materials that do not emit toxic gases.

One Horizon center being Gold certified has points between 69-75.
