TITLE: DESIGN OF A FLEXIBLE PAVEMENT ADDING POLYETHYLENE TEREPHTHALATE AS
CONSTITUTIVE MATERIAL WITH ASPHALT CEMENT AC-20
AUTHOR: Revelo Corella, Mary Elizabeth

ABSTRACT:
The main objective of the research is to analyze and compare the performance of the asphalt
mixtures modified with related to a normal asphalt modifiers, plastic materials source and
elastomer (rubber) from used tires and polyethylene terephthalate (PET) from recycled
plastic bottles in order to create an alternative application of these materials that cause
pollution to the environment since their biodegradation occurs within 500 years. The grain
used corresponds to the Normal Mix Asphalt MAC-2 determined by the Standard Vial
Ecuadorian NEVI-12 for a stone material of nominal maximum size ¾”. The laboratory work
consists of characterization of materials for use as aggregate, asphalt cement, PET, elastomer
and subsequently the development and testing of stability and flow of briquettes by Marshall
Method is performed initially to determine the optimum asphalt of the standard mixture and
then the application of modifier materials in varying percentages, so that the elastomer
optimum percentage and the combination 50% elastomer and 50% PET optimum percentage
determined, finally behavior analyzing mixtures designed to be subjected to sudden changes
in temperature in a thermal shock test.

TITLE: STUDY OF THE PREFACTIBILITY OF CIVIL WORKS OF THE MICRO
CENTRAL EL VOLCAN.
AUTHORS: GUTIERREZ CRUZ, LUIS SANTIAGO
LLUMIQUINGA GUALOTUÑA, JORGE EDUARDO

ABSTRACT:
The hydraulic works are essential for the development of peoples. Harnessing the power of
water and turn it into electrical energy is one of the oldest, safe and economical forms used
today. Therefore, this project has set targets to identify the feasibility of implementing a
hydroelectric plant in the area called "El Volcán", is located in the Pintag zone, Province of
Pichincha, in order to obtain own energy for use in developing the sector. For this purpose,
a study of hydrology as watersheds, gauging, sheds was made, and a study of the topography,
geology and other factors of the sector. It was concluded that conditions are suitable for
carrying out the civil works on the implementation of the hydroelectric plant where it was
determined that the most appropriate turbine is the Michell-Banki turbine, with which you
get 19.72Kw energy, which is enough to implement a system of water pumping for irrigation
and lighting in the resort called "El Volcán".

TITLE: DESIGN OF STABILIZATION WORKS WITH APPLICATIONS COMPUTERS
IN 3 SITES OF THE LOCALIZED E45 ROUTE IN THE BAEZA SECTION - TENA
AUTHORS: Ing. Ernesto Pro Zambrano1.
Ing. Hugo Bonifaz Garcìa2

ABSTRACT:
Slope stabilization allows a much wider along a pathway, preventing slippage that can cause
damage to the pavement structure life. Stabilization methods vary depending on the type of
slip, conventional methods such as gabion walls and unconventional as anchored reinforced
earth walls and provides a definitive solution to the various problems that arise in our country
roads. Currently there are automated tools to speed the calculation process are increasingly
used by designers for having convincing results. Software as GawacWin for gabion wall
design, design Macstars for walls and armed land developed by SNAP (Central Federal
Lands Highway) in the United States, specializing in design of walls with anchors. The use
of software will be strongly linked to a comprehensive knowledge and to take full advantage
criteria and will also be very important to consider the geotechnical and geological
topography of each site where they are applied, to thereby achieve an appropriate design for
solve every eventuality is presented in a study site.

TITLE: ANALYSIS AND DESIGN OF MODULAR STEEL STRUCTURES FOR
SHOPPING CENTERS.
AUTHORS: Ing. Medina Pozo, Diana Carolina

ABSTRACT:
The analysis and design of steel structures represent one of the main application fields of
engineering, in Ecuador there is a notable increase in buildings made of this material and it
is important to use the advantages of this material in large-scale structures such as a shopping
center. Then it is necessary to conduct a study of the analysis and design of this building
based steel structure and determine optimal conditions to achieve an acceptable level of
confidence in the performance under the action of different static and dynamic loads.
To achieve this goal 3 types of analyzes were performed: static, modal and spectral step in
time, which determine the behavior of the structure and provide the data required for the
design of it. The design of these elements have a number of disadvantages arising from the
characteristics of a shopping center features, which are looking for a viable solution within
the design is considered the design of frames, connections and foundations. As a tool to aid
in the development of this thesis, the ETABS 2013 computer program for different analysis
and design procedures used.

ARTICLE SCIENTIFIC V:
TITLE: METHODOLOGY OF LOW MICROPAVIMENT DESIGN COST FOR SOIL
TYPE ORGANIC LIME ARENOSO (OL)
AUTHORS: Ing. Franco Rojas Ruales1.
Ing. Patricio Romero Flores 2
Ing. César Vinueza 3

ABSTRACT:
The thesis project " Design Methodology microsurfacing low-cost soil sandy organic silt (OL) type ",
whose main objective is to provide the reader a basic guide for the proper management of
stabilization in silt soil type sandy organic (OL), and type sandy loam (OM), since for these two soil
types is underway stabilization with cement, cal, asphalt emulsion and organosilanes. This
document should be taken for reference purposes and as an aid for practitioners and users to
establish their own specifications in their projects based on the type of soil they are in, as long as
they are with any of the above two types of soil appointed, as is generally known, the design of the
structure of a pavement or microsurfacing is based on the percentage of CBR subgrade or improved
base, which is why the research was conducted to reduce costs, stabilizing the subgrade. The design
microsurfacing it performed with cationic emulsion CSS- 1H-P type as this emulsion is slow break,
we worked with the addition Mine Pintag, the same that was used to perform microsurfacing type
3, its design highlights consist of 14.15% of Asphalt Emulsion, value obtained by the method Duriez.
