1. Recognize the different figurative language.
2. Construct their own sentences using figure of speech.
3. Write a love letter consisting different figure of speech.

SPECIFIC LEARNING At the end of the lesson, the learners will be able to:
OUTCOMES 1. Lettering (Single Stroke Gothic)
2. Methods on how to make Single Stroke Gothic Letters.
3. Criteria in making a Plate.

INTRODUCTION / REVIEW
Time Allotment: 15 minutes (Prayer, Greetings, Checking of Attendance, Review)

b. Giving a situation that you are courting someone, what do you usually telling themto impress them?
c. When you have a project in school and you need to ask money on your parents, how are you going to make them
believe that you badly needed a money?

INSTRUCTION/ DELIVERY
Time Allotment: 40 minutes

Lecture-Discussion
1. The teacher will task the students to arrange letters written on the board.
2. Afterwards the teacher will give a lecture-discussion on the figurative language and how it being used
in everyday conversation
3. Using one famous written works of Edgar Alan Poe ,the teacher will show how figurative languages
being used in a sentence or in a paragraph.

PRACTICE
Time Allotment: 20 minutes

A.The students are tasked to complete the table of figurative language.

The students are tasked to analyze the following sentences if it is simile ,metaphor, hyperbole, irony, personification,
onomatopoeia, or alliteration.

1. Clean as whistle
2. The sun greeted this morning

4. Betty bought butter but the butter was bitter.
5. The burning wood hissed and crackled.
6. Brave as a lion.
7. You snore louder than a freight train!
8. Listen for the croak, caw, buzz, whirr, swish, hum, quack and tweet
9. The sky was full of dancing stars.
10. Time is money.

ENRICHMENT
Time Allotment:10 minutes

A. “Write me a Love letter”


The students will write a letter to the person they admire using different figurative language. Their letter must
possess at least 10 figurative language. Writing a good a letter is strictly observed.

Grammar -20%
Content -20%
Organization - 10%
