STATISTICAL QUALITY CONTROL

1. Product Description and Usage

Human beings always depend on key needs such as food, clothes, and shelter. As soon as

such basic needs are fulfilled, they, in turn, look for another more luxury need to satisfy and

mostly in the form of entertainment (Shewhart, 1931).

From early times, we can realize that the total amount actually spent on entertainment is

greater than those spend on such basic needs. As these variations keep increasing, the spending

also increases. My product hence targets a unique segment of the market which is the gaming

market.

Games especially video, is a significant attraction to us. With the advancement in technology,

we are experiencing different types of video games that are becoming realistic each day. My

product is “Kilowar” and it is superior to any other in the market at the moment. The “VRgluv”,

“Oculus Rift”, “Virtuix Omni” targets such a specific body part to at least give such a realistic

form of gaming experience (Rollings, 2006). But this “Kiloware” is fully fitted with VR headset

giving you total VR and realistic experience. With it, you don’t actually play games only but live

by the game. You experience both pains in case of being shot although only an insignificant

percentage of real pain is of health concern. You will, in turn, feel more vibrations with the

motion of firing of a gun and more.

As depicted the product is a revolutionary and would actually change this gaming experience.

The use would be available to astronauts, soldiers and pilots in their training using this

product and unique software that increases their efficiency while reducing the risk (Kennicott,

2012).
STATISTICAL QUALITY CONTROL

2. You will generate a random dataset of N samples of defective proportions.

Given my birthday is 09/16/1987, I am getting 16+87 = which is more than 100 hence

subtracting it leads to 3.

3. Choose a number of samples; N. N should be between 5 and 10.

I choose N to be 8.

4. In Excel, type =RAND()*X in a cell. Repeat N times. This will generate the
proportion of defective products (out of 100) for your N samples.
My random numbers are depicted as:

7.71 4.39 1.02 2.56 1.18 3.39 7.86 3.73

5. The obtained P-chart is as shown.

STATISTICAL QUALITY CONTROL

6. Share Lower Control Limit (LCL) and Upper Control Limit (UCL).
The given Lower control Limit is 0

And the upper control limit is 0.0985.

7. Is the product in control? If not in control, what sample(s) was outside of the limits,
i.e. below LCL or above UCL?

All these points are in between UCL and LCL or inside the control limits with no prominent

patterns showing the product control.
