THIRD QUARTER CULMINATING ACTIVITY IN MAPEH 8

Quarterly, as a part of our curriculum we are conducting a culminating


activities, and the reason is it can touches in all learning domains including the
psychomotor, cognitive and affective and it can develops the child’s creativity
and artistic expression, his cultural and visual literacy, the child’s multiple
intelligences SPATIAL INTELLIGENCE, KINAESTHETIC INTELLIGENCE , LOGICAL &
VERBAL INTELLIGENCE as well as concerning about the benefits they can get
through health-related and skill-related activities.

Each specialty group summarized the most important things learned as


they researched their particular activities every quarter. On their music
culminating activities the Grade 8 students showed their skills in group singing
activity with the use of the elements of music, as well as any other folk songs of
the discussed Asian countries which can help the students to be more aware
and familiar about the different styles and techniques in singing of the Asian
Countries such as the Khyal music of India,Zum Gali Gali of Israel and examples
of Carnatic or Hindustani of Pakistani music which can help them to recognize
the genuine uses of music.

The learner demonstrated understanding of salient features of arts, through


appreciation, analysis, and performance for self-development and cultural
identity and diversity, and the expansion of one’s world vision through making
Rangolli of India,Truck art of Israel and,those are some of the activities we have
done under the subject are of arts.At this point, the members of the specialty
groups broke apart and jigsawed into new groups, consisting of one member
from each specialty group. Each member then shared the knowledge gained
from their art acitivities in the specialty group with the other members in the
jigsaw so that the new group had a more thorough understanding of all the
factors that would be involved in a Mission to Mars. Sometimes this sharing was
done orally, other times groups wrote lengthly explanation of each artwork to
share and combine.
On the other hand, Physical education plays an important role in the
development of an individual just as a school room education does. Hence, it is
important that physical education be incorporated along with a student’s
curriculum. During the first quarter activities the CRHS GRADE 8 students
performed their first practicum relating to the Physical Fitness Test wherein we
taught them to realize about the safeties of performing this kind of activities such
as improving their physical health as well as their skills. Then we also asked them
to execute and demonstrate the fundamental skills of any dual sports and even
the group sports like basketball and at which point it must be developed in
accordance with a variety of factors.

Furthermore we MAPEH 8 teachers also asked our students to play mind


game w/c considered as a recreational activity and make them realized and
considered recreational activity as a supplement to the learner’s growing value
system. One of its aims is to expand options for wise use of leisure time. Taking up
a regular physical activity is a health-enhancing move. On their lesson I noticed,
with our students in Grade 8 at this time that they were comfortable in playing
such mind game like chess and scrabble as considered as mind game.

Lastly,on our Health subject we asked our Grade 8 students to make a


preservation which is making a CHIPNU as an experimental activity about our
lesson which is all about Pathogen.

This kind of activity is really one of the most highlights for all of our learners
not just for them to improve their mental ability but their creativity as well which
are related to our lesson this quarter.
