Pollution

Now a day, pollution is a hot topic in every newspaper and receives much attention
from the residents. Throughout the media, we can easily tell that Vietnam is a
polluted country with tons of trash. The people who live here don’t have awareness
of what’s going to happen if they throw trash into the water or just by driving their
transportation. That’s why in the rural area, some people cannot access to clean
water, and in the urban area, we inhale the smoke from transportations. In 2016,
60,000 deaths were linked to air pollution. The area of forests has increased 40%,
but still not covered enough. Motorbikes consume only 56% petro of
transportations, but discharged 94% Hydrocarbon (HC); 87% Carbon Monoxide
(CO); 57% Nitrogen Oxide (NOx). For water pollution, 9000 people died every year
because of the dirty water, 100,000 cases of cancer caused by polluted water and
30% of Vietnamese people can’t access to clean water.

Healthcare
Vietnam has many hospitals, but most of them don’t have enough modern
technology to heal people, sometimes the hospitals are overcrowded, so the
patients have to share the same bed. Luckily, now there are a few hospitals that
have foreign doctors and high-quality machines. The government also helps to
solve the problem. Ministry of Health (MOH) estimates, 40,000 Vietnamese people
spend approximately $2 billion to travel abroad for better services every year.
BMI’s report shows that 90% of medical equipment in Vietnam is imported

Security
In Vietnam, there are several crimes and accidents. Some kids are kidnapped,
people murder others. The reasons are drugs using, or they weren’t able to pay the
debt,.... these leads to uncontrollable activities. Even though the Vietnamese are
very careful when they go outside, the thieves, murderers always action when there
is a chance. Also, there are some small actions, such as petty theft, purse snatching,
or pickpocketing. In 2017, there were 30 cases of children murdering and 32 victims;
31 cases of ‘buy&sell’ children and kidnapping with 81 victims. The children in
Vietnam is the number 1 victim for security.

Food safety
Currently, you can see a lot of news about Cysticercosis. That’s why now people
really care about the food they eat. They only buy meat and vegetables from the
supermarket, which clearly the source. And they wash and cook them well to
prevent disease. World Bank report (2017) showed that 80% pork and 85%
vegetables are sold in wet markets, 76% pork are killed in small and dirty places.
Vietnamese are using a lot of chemicals in agriculture and sometimes, meat are
soaked in dangerous chemicals. In first half year 2018, 53 cases of food poisoning
are found, more than 1300 people suffered food poisoning and more than 1000
people had to go to the hospitals. Sadly, 11 cases of fatality.

Education
Education is a very important thing for the children’s future. The parents always care
about their children’s grading and education. Usually, the parents talk to the teacher
and school if there is an issue with their child, and sometimes, when there is an
exam, they’ll ask the child how was the test and how many did he/she get.
