I.   Subject Title Proficiency in Microsoft Word

II.   Subject Description Microsoft Word is very easy to use. It consists of five chapters which deal in detail about the various features of MS
Word. Since this is a basic course, it is not at all complex, instead it is very easy to learn and grasp. This course is filled
with pictures and images which act like a catalyst to aid even an amateur to grasp MS Word quickly and thoroughly.
This course is designed to enhance student’s productivity and creativity through computer technology in word
processing. It aims to equip the students with Microsoft Word skills for them to be competent and proficient in the said
software
IV.  No. of Hours/Week 1 hour and 10 minutes

V.  Subject Requirements Completion of Hands-on activities, active participation in class and passing the examinations (e.g. Long Quizzes,
Quarterly Assessment.) are requisites in the subject.

VII. Subject General Objectives Upon completion of this course students will be able to use the robust features of MS Word. The students will be
able to utilize all the functions that are described in the course content. As such:

 Create Word documents


 Move around within the document in a variety of ways.
 Change margins and orientation
 Open, save, edit and apply the basic document formatting procedures
 Change font and sizes and likewise apply styles
 Cutting and pasting techniques
 Use the tables and diagrams
 Insert clipart and other objects in document
 Manipulation of tabs with ruler bar and tab dialog box
 Create 3-dimensional objects
 Printing and page formatting

VIII. Grading System The grading policy is based on percentage and not on letter grades. The computer laboratory is a tool to help pupils
understand how to use MS Publisher. The grading is based on completion and passing of the activities and
examinations required in each quarter. Thus, it follows the policy guidelines on classroom assessment stipulated in the
DepEd Order No. 8, s. 2015.

Written Works : 60%


Performance Tasks : 20%
Quarterly Assessment : 20%
Total : 100%
