Inner Peace Made Easier in 9 Steps

Finding inner peace in our world is a challenge. Everything around us seems to be hindering any
attempt to experience peace of mind and feeling calm. But, still, there are ways to find that long
lost inner peace and maintain it. Like most things in our life, inner peace is a choice, and many
of our acquired habits determine how much peace we experience in our daily life.

Let’s take a look at these 9 Steps to enjoy our lives on a deeper level and experience inner
peace:

1. Focus on what you can control. Why worry about things you can’t control? It makes you
less capable, drains your energy and disturbs your mood.

 Literally ask yourself, “Is this something I can control? How is worrying helping me in
any way?”

2. Spend some time in nature. Take a long walk in a park or a sports club, or spend a weekend
camping. You’ll feel magnificently different compared to sitting in a building 24 hours every
day. There’s something truly calming about spending time among the birds and the trees.

3. Be true to you. Almost nothing is more alarming than living a life you weren’t meant to live.
It just simply consumes you. Live a life that’s congruent with your values, a life that honors
the your true self.

 It’s too easy to allow society dictate your choices, and conform. You don’t have to spend
your life on a career you don’t like and that’s impressive to others. You don’t have to
chase after a fancy life. Make your decisions about what’s most important to you.

4. Eat healthy. You might not realize how bad you feel because you’re so used to it. Try eating
the way you know is healthy for just a week. Note the changes in your feelings.

 Now try eating some junk food and see what happens to your mood and your overall
sense of well-being. You’ll feel like you’ve been hit by truck.

5. Exercise daily. Exercise feels good, and you feel good about yourself for doing it. When it is
a habit, it regulates your breathing, and helps you feel better and calmer.

6. Do something nice for others. A great way to take your focus off of yourself. You become
more aware that others are struggling, too. When you are kind, you’ll feel a sense of pride
and satisfaction. When you help someone else, you’ll feel great for being a reason for good
for others.

7. Be assertive, decisive, positive and assured. Be forward with your needs and desires.
You’ll more likely get what you want, and you’ll also feel more in control of your life.
Being passive results in having less control on your life, which runs counter to inner peace.
Be bold without being aggressive.

8. Meditate. It is calming. It helps you to see life and its challenges more accurately. Things are
often better than they seem. Meditation can prevent your mind from exaggerating a bad
situation. I found the easiest approach is to focus on your breath, whenever your mind
wanders and your thoughts come up, return your focus fully on your breath, breathing in, and
breathing out.

9. Quit trying to change others. It’s hard enough to change yourself. How will you ever
manage to change someone else? Can you succeed at changing the weather? Right, it’s the
same.

It’s essential to take care of your own “you” mentally and physically. Eat healthy, exercise, and
be true to you. Be assertive and take control of your own life. No accomplishments in the world
can replace inner peace. Avoid conformity and chasing after things that society and others has
determined to be essential. Decide for yourself and live the life you were meant to live.
May you truly: Live Your Magnificence!
