Hello, Since you have 3 units it seems strange all of them would be defective unless possibly they were from the same batch? I
am assuming you have installed various versions of the GM MDI Manager software? The attached PDF may be of help as it
contains some troubleshooting info to get started if you haven't already seen it?
Some quick things would be removing all MDI Manager software and re-installing and try a different USB cable along with a

different USB port on the computer. I would also check your external power adapter if you are not plugging it into a vehicle
when you are setting it up to rule out that. The MDI also has 4 (AAA) batteries which are used for backup if the DLC port loses
power. When you plug in the MDI it should take a short bit of time (~1 minute at most) and then make a chime sound letting
you know it is passed the self diagnostics.

One other thing to do is disabling the network rewall as it shows up as a Network device over USB and the rewall could

Thanks Few questions before we get in to case, 1. What version rmware MDI updated? Uninstall Antivirus / rewall program
2.

Install the same version ( current ver. 8.1 xx ) when it nished it will prompt to connect the MDI, connect with USB and 12V if
not successes do the following, on a fresh new windows installation. Do a MDI hardware reset and recover the MDI 3. Install
new ver. 8.1 and update the MDI. Well thanks all for reply, well every time I install fresh winxp and win7, I installed mdi CD that
come with mdi tool My problem is that when I install c that come with it and attach mdi it ask for driver cp2012 I downlowd it
and it de ned after that mdi manager can not detect mdi tool!!!

Note that there is no antivirus, no rewall, tried different fresh winxp sp3 versions!!! I will try mdi manager new version and will
see, something else how to know my mdi version??? How to install USB driver??
