Ankara University is one of the oldest and the most eminent universities acting as a leader in
the academic arena. Founded in 1946, Ankara University's roots extend to the middle of
1800’s with the opening of Faculties of Veterinary Medicine, Agriculture and Political
sciences. As a prominent university, it offers the most privileged opportunities to its students
in scientific, cultural and social areas. I would proudly like to state that Ankara University
educates well-equipped individuals with its outstanding academic members. We attach great

Program Description: The program established for the aim of training qualified persons
work in the sea and maritime law, master program focuses to graduate with master degree
without thesis, for the ones graduated from law faculty or other faculties. During the
program, depending on their performance, an opportunity of master degree with thesis’
(LLM) will be provided to participants graduated from law schools and faculties in order to
pursue them to continue PhD degree. For the others to apply for the master degree with
thesis, the participation in the scientific preparation program is mandatory. Although the
program is intended for evening education, it could also be during working hours, in
particular, to facilitate the participation of faculty members from abroad.

Program Description: The Stem Cell Institute is the first institute established with the
mission to serve Stem Cells and Regenerative Medicine in Turkey. The vision of the Institute
is to develop more economic and rapidly evolving novel therapies to treat diseases in the field
of stem cells and regenerative medicine and to achieve the National and International Center
of Excellence within the body of our University. Under the scope of studies to be done at the
Center of Excellence, there shall be necessity for personnel with at least a PhD degree specific
to the said field. With the contribution of such personnel, the Center of Excellence shall
pioneer national and international research in the ever evolving field of stem cells and
regenerative medicine.
The aim of such a PhD program is to raise expert-trained researchers who can keep up with
innovation, work within different disciplines and translate their background onto practice. As
a result, a sufficient number of experts shall be attained for developing safe, efficient and
qualified treatment methods for many diseases in a shorter period of time, more
economically. Students raised within the scope of the proposed PhD program shall be
acknowledged of implementation of cell-based products and drugs, ethical principles to be
followed and relevant legislation, in addition to fundamental scientific education.
Subsequently, PhD graduates shall have become recognizable renowned in the field of stem
cells and regenerative medicine worldwide.

PhD graduates may occupate positions for duties such as researcher and/or lecturer at our
University's Center of Excellence, researcher/lecturer at other universities in our country, or
manufacturing personnel at public or private cell and tissue establishments.
Such as the case worldwide, implementation and legislative studies related to stem cells and
regenerative medicine are rapidly evolving in our country. However, even if national
legislation stipulates so, expertise programs specifically designed for training in cell and
tissue banking, cell-based product manufacturing procedures, and donation and
transplantation ethics do not exist yet in Turkey. The proposed PhD program promises
researchers who shall be raised for the potential contribution to the clinical and industrial
development of stem cells and relevant other cell resources and regenerative medicine which
will manifest products manufactured from donated human tissues to treat various chronic
and life-threatening diseases. This PhD program is planned to fill in this substantial gap. Stem
cells and regenerative medicine are an intact area. Due to this, this subject is not a specific
agenda in any PhD programs in our University or other educational associations in Turkey.

PROGRAM NAME: INTERDISCIPLINARY UROGYNECOLOGY AND PELVIC FLOOR HEALTH

Program Description: Pelvic floor dysfunction, including pelvic organ prolapse and lower
urinary tract, anorectal and sexual dysfunctions, affects almost half of the women in the
world and in our country, significantly disrupts the quality of life and causes serious health
expenditures. In this area, the training of health professionals will provide the right diagnosis
and treatment approaches as well as the right preventive health services. Therefore, it is
important for public health to increase the number of specialized health care professionals
who have sufficient knowledge and skills in this field. Urogynecology and Pelvic Floor Health
doctoral program provides in-depth training on both preventive applications and treatment
approaches related to pelvic floor dysfunctions in women. This program aims to provide in-
depth training in both preventive and therapeutic approaches to pelvic floor dysfunction in
women and to develop researchers who can conduct independent research and review
international data in this field with a critical perspective, interpret, analyze and reach new
syntheses.
The aim of the course is to provide advanced knowledge, skills and skills to the health
workers who have focused on pelvic floor health and provide multi-disciplinary working
qualification and to contribute to the national/international scientific field and to develop
practices that benefit the society. The aim of this course is to provide a program that will
enable the emergence of innovative and original scientific studies in the fields of diagnosis,
treatment, rehabilitation and clinical application in the field of urogynecology and pelvic floor
health by specialized medical doctors, pharmacists, physiotherapists, nurses and all academic
staff who will work in this field.

Graduates of this program have the opportunity to work as qualified specialists in various
healthcare institutions such as "Family - Women's health centers, research and application
hospitals / centers, private hospitals and university hospitals", to work as coordinator,
consultant and expert in various industrial fields, to conduct scientific research and study in
academic education processes at research centers and universities.
The graduates of this program have the competence to develop protective strategies in the
field of pelvic floor health and pelvic floor dysfunctions, to have in-depth knowledge and
skills to do research related to diagnosis and treatment approaches pelvic floor health, to
make and present academic studies in this field, to produce original projects.

PROGRAM NAME: INTERDISCIPLINARY THE REPRODUCTIVE ENDOCRINOLOGY AND
INFERTILITY

Program Description: Although reproductive endocrinology and infertility is an active
branch of science in many developed countries, there is no regulation in our country. There is
a need for gynecologists and obstetricians who research and aim a scientific approach in this
field. In order to get closer to the international scientific community and to announce the
name of our country in this field, specialist gynecologists and obstetricians must work in this
field and they have the current knowledge on the field. Reproductive Endocrinology and
Infertility (REI) doctoral program will answer the purpose for specialist who concentrated in
this field.
With this program, the employment of people is not only directed towards the academy, but
also aims to provide serious benefits for the public and private sector oriented processes.
People who complete this doctorate program will be able to serve as qualified specialists in
various healthcare institutions. In summary, this program is focused on reproductive
medicine and multi-disciplinary study of health workers who have sufficient qualifications to
conduct research on the subject to have advanced knowledge, skills and equipment, and thus
contributing to the national / international scientific field is intended and to contribute to the
development of practices that benefit the community.
This program is planned as a doctorate program under the direction of Ankara University,
Faculty of Health Sciences, Faculty of Medicine, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Department of Urology, Department of Genetics,

Department of Histology-Embryology and Anatomy Department are included in the program.
The aim of the doctoral program is to create a multidisciplinary approach to the infertility
and reproductive endocrinology in the world. In our country, it is seen that there is not any
post-graduate education program focused on diagnosis and treatment related to reproductive
endocrinology and infertility in public universities. The fact that our university has extensive
academic knowledge related to reproductive endocrinology and infertility is an important
advantage in terms of opening a doctoral program that will focus on this subject.
The purpose of this program; to meet the needs of gynecologists and obstetricians who are
investigating, adopting a scientific approach and focusing on human reproduction. With this
program, it is aimed that specialist gynecologists and obstetricians who conduct intensive
studies in this area to make international studies and to have current knowledge and skills.
“Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility” doctoral program will meet the need for
specialist physicians concentrated in this area.

the above mentioned list in paragraphs (j), (k) are going to gain an acceptance depending on
the decision of the related faculty members.
l) Aptitude test: Applicants who will apply to departments that require aptitude tests should
not only provide the necessary requirements, but also required to take an aptitude test
conducted by the related faculty or department.
m) High School GPA: After placement of the types of examinations above, applications made
according to national high school final examinations will be assessed if vacant quotas remain.
The results of exams, which are specified as the University Entrance Exam, are valid for only
two years. There is no time expiry for the exams, which are specified as High School
Graduation Exam.
