Lesson plan: new sight words

Grade :kindergarten

SWBAT: identify and read new sight words.

Materials: books and crayons.

Instruction:
​Teache​r​:start by writing a sentence on the board with a new sight word then ask
them to read it with me. Then I will give them a book and I will put them with partners and ask
them to read the book to each other. After that I will ask them to go through the book and color
the new sight word that they learn
.
Students​:they will start by reading the sentence with me then they will read a
book with a partner. After they will color the new sight word in the book.

Closure:. Tell them to keep their book in their folder. Then tell them that
tomorrow we will learn a new sight word.

Evaluation: who can tell me what what was today's new sight word?
Can you use the word in a sentence?

Resources: I got this ide from my mom's friend who is a kindergarten teacher. I
think this is a really good lesson because it helps the kids reading and comprehension skills.
