Waste Management Plan 0 0

1. Introduction

Procedures to segregate, store, handle and dispose of all waste streams are
discussed in this procedure.

Non-hazardous and domestic waste will be moved by the CONTRACTOR offsite to a

Municipality approved landfill for disposal.

Hazardous waste shall be transported off-site by an appropriately licensed

contractor (approved by the EAD) to a Municipality approved landfill for disposal.
This includes septic waste from portable toilets, if installed on site.

2. Waste Streams

Two main categories of waste are expected to be generated during the

construction programme. These include:

• Non-hazardous waste (paper, wood, kitchen / office rubbish, cardboard,

scrap metal, cement and waste water from the kitchen / wash basins).

• Hazardous waste (sanitary waste, oil and lubricants, batteries, filters, etc.).

These storage sites shall be well clearly marked and organised and waste should
be segregated into different types. Procedures for storage and disposal of wastes
are presented in table below.
