Sequence of operation:

The sequence starts based on 7days 24 hours scheduler to be adjusted by the user using user
interface / user handset PXM10/20. Number of operating chillers to be determined by the
cooling request for each chiller (5 cooling request for 5 chillers), these requests / set points to be
compared to the main return header temperature reading which indicates the cooling demand
for the building for example (if the cooling request are 8, 10, 12, 14, 16 for the chillers and the
return temperature is 11 so 2 of 5 chillers to be started also if the return temperature is 9.5 only
one chiller to be operated)
The chillers to be selected by the least working hours (chillers are set to operate continuously
for a maximum period of 48 hours). The selected chiller won’t be commanded till the following
conditions are fulfilled (the inlet butterfly valve is opened and returned feedback signal, the
chiller flow switch indicates water flow upon the opening of butterfly valve, primary chilled water
pump operate and returns run feedback signal) without these conditions the chiller will not be
commanded and if all of them were fulfilled and the chiller itself fails to operate, the rotation
selects another chiller to be commanded. The operation starts with opening the valve by valve
actuator and after returning a feedback signal the pump shall start then the flow switch shall
return a water flow signal. In the opposite side when the chiller fails to operate or when it
complete its running time or when the return temperature is lower than its request then the
shutdown process is as follow: the chiller is firstly commanded off then the pump then the valve
with 7 min. switch off delay (for the valve) to allow the chiller to cool and shut down its
compressors
For the secondary pump side the DPS sensor indicates the differential pressure of the load. The
number of pumps shall be selected according to the difference between the reading of DPS and
the set point of diff. pressure indicated in the water balance reports. Also the control on VSDs
shall be responsive to this reading inversely (for example if the set point is 2.5 bar and the
reading is 3 bar the VSD shall work on the minimum speed and inversely if the reading is 1.5
bar the VSD shall work with the maximum speed to reach this set points)
