Softtech Switches

Objective

Design and development of a voice controlled and time programmed switch to turn
ON or OFF multiple switches by inducing voice.

Abstract

The voice control switch is a completely new design in the automation world.
Turning ON or OFF our switches automatically when inducing voice is the key
feature under this technology.

Traditionally automation of controlling switch was done with sounds like clap and
was called a clap switch. Here switches were activated by sound i.e clap and had
major disadvantage as these were specifically tuned to certain clap frequencies and
upon that it was just able to control only one switch with ON and OFF options. So
hence with our new approach in designing our project, we aim at bringing a voice
controlled switch to nullify these disadvantages which were present in our
traditional switch automation and make option to control multiple switches very
effectively.

Voice Operated Switch uses high quality speech recognition and was developed in
response to customer demand for reliable and affordable voice automation. Some
of its key features include lights on demand; request help from bed at night; hands
free remote operation with your voice; and never worry about finding a light switch
in a dark room again.

Very easy to use as there would be a set of pre-programmed commands/

vocabulary for every switch. Once programmed, you just say the word and the
lights (or any other device connected) turn on, say it again and they turn off.
You can use the Voice Activated Control switch on most types of lights including
incandescent, fluorescent, and halogen. Can also be used to control various small
household appliances. However, we recommend only using lamps for our
demonstration with the designed switch.

Also with feature like speaker independent operation, our project should allow it to
work with anyone's voice. You must say commands and they have to be said loud
enough to overcome any background noise.
