Entrance Examination is Compulsory for all Postgraduate-Degree courses for all

candidates (except Foreign National). Candidates have to apply and appear for
entrance examinations separately for each course. However, there shall be a single
common entrance examination for the following groups of courses:
Group 1 : Zoology, Applied Zoology, Botany, Bio-Technology, Microbiology,
Genetics, Sericulture and Seri Biotechnology, Bio-Chemistry, Molecular
Biology.
Group 2 :Ambedkar Studies, Co-Operative Management, Development Studies, South
Indian Studies, Linguistics, International Relations, Philosophy, Comparative
Literature and Translation Studies, Folklore, Jainology & Prakrit, West Asian
Studies, Peace and Conflict Resolution, Women’s Studies, Rural Development,
Tribal Development,Master of Lib & Inf. Sc. (M.L.I.Sc).
Group 3 : M.Com & M.Com (Financial Services).

For all the remaining courses (not included in the above groups), candidates have to
appear separately to each Examination. The candidates who seek admission for M.B.A.,
M.C.A., M.Tech. (CCT) and M.Tech. (CST) are advised to contact Karnataka
Examinations Authority (KEA). For B.Arch/M.Arch/B.Plan. admission are
madethrough NATA (National Aptitude Test for Architecture) – Council of
Architecture, New Delhi.

For admission to any PG degree course, candidates have to get qualified in the
respective entrance examination by securing a minimum 08 marks in case of
SC / ST / Cat-I candidates / 09 marks in case of OBC and 10 marks in case of other
candidates out of 50 marks.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
1. Candidates who have appeared for final semester examination of the qualifying degree can
also appear for entrance examinations without waiting for their resultsOriginal marks cards
shall be submitted later at the time of admissions, if they are selected.
2. Filing an application for entrance examination and later for admission shall be through
ONLINE ONLY. Online portal will be opened from 15-05-2019 and last date for filing the
application for entrance examination is 10-06-2019.
3. The payment of fees shall be through ON-LINE / E-Paymentonly with SBI.
4. Candidates (irrespective of category) have to pay separately Rs.600/-(Rupees Six hundred
only) for entrance examination for each course.
5. Procedure to apply for admission after entrance examination shall be available at www.uni-
mysore.ac.in
6. For details regarding constituent / affiliated colleges, the candidates can contact the respective
principalsof the concerned college.
7. Admission shall be made on the basis of the merit list prepared by taking into consideration
50% of the aggregate marks obtained in the relevant subjects in the qualifying degree
examination and 50% of marks obtained in the entrance examination.

11. Under the Scheme ‘A’ seats - SC/ST students, whose Parent’s annual Income isRs.2.50 Lakh.
And below (as per the Government order No. ¸ÀPÀE 80 ¥ÀPÀ« 2013, Bangalore, dated
02.07.2013) the concernedPrincipals / heads are requested to ascertain the latest additions if
any with regard to any supplement orders at the time of filling/forwarding the application by
the candidates for exemption of full fees(this category of students are enjoying the

 privileges of getting full fee concession) from the Social Welfare department / Govt. of India.
Further, for any reasons if the students fail to receive the benefit of the above, that such
students shall have to remit the prescribed fee in full.
12. SC/ST students whose parents annual income is Rs. 2.5 lakhs to 10 lakhs (As per Government
order no.¸ÀQ«178¥ÀPÀ« 2015, ¨ÉAUÀ¼ÀÆgÀÄ dated 31.12.2015 ) are enjoying the privileges of
getting 50% concession of the fees. However, the head of the institution shall watch whether
such students have applied for scholarship or not. Futher, for any reason if the students fail to
receive the benefit of the above, that such students shall have to remit the prescribed fee in
full.
13. For Cat-I and OBC students, whose annual income is below 2.5 lakhs and Rs.1.00 respectively
are exempted from payment of i) Tuition fee, ii) Lab fee iii) Sports fee iv) Library and v)
Examination fee out of whole fee component, however, the head of the institution shall watch
whether such students have applied for scholarship or not. If students who do not apply for
any scholarships and also who receive scholarship from the government will have to pay the
full fee.
14. Candidates who will be admitted to PG Diploma / Diploma / Certificate courses etc are not
eligible for any scholarships / hostelships and re-imbursements of Fee, if any.
15. Applications without valid certificates and incomplete information will not be considered, and
are liable to be rejected.
16. Admissions will be made as per the Government Orders issued from time to time relating to
reservation of seats. Allotment of seats to Other Universities(OU) candidates is as per the
existing rules of the Government of Karnataka.

19. The payment of fees shall be through ON-LINE / E-Paymentonly with SBI.
20. Candidates (irrespective of category) have to pay separately Rs.600/-(Rupees Six hundred
only) for entrance examination for each course.
21. Admission shall be made on the basis of the merit list prepared by taking into consideration
50% of the aggregate marks obtained in the relevant subjects in the qualifying degree
examination and 50% of marks obtained in the entrance examination.
22. Details on eligibility criteria, fee structure and admission to certificate / diploma / PG diploma
courses and also procedure to apply for admission after entrance examination are available at
www.uni-mysore.ac.in
23. Candidates who will be admitted to PG Diploma / Diploma / Certificate courses etc are not
eligible for any scholarships / hostelships and re-imbursements Fee, if any.
24. Applications without valid certificates and incomplete information will not be considered, and
are liable to be rejected.
25. Admissions will be made as per the Government Orders issued from time to time relating to
reservation of seats. Allotment of seats to Other Universities(OU) candidates is as per the
existing rules of the Government of Karnataka.
