“Tell me about yourself.

My name is Rizka Diva Pratiwi. I am a final year student of Bioprocess Engineering
at University of Indonesia. Well, basically Bioprocess Engineering is under surveilance of
Chemical Engineering Department. I live in Depok with my parents, my sisters, and my
brother, and I am the oldest one. Owing to I’m living in Depok, it only takes me 5 minutes to
go to UI. My hobby is cooking. I love everything about cooking, including watching cooking
videos that share tips and tricks, trying a new recipe, and I am so excited to give the food that
I cooked to my family members and my friends. Because of that, sometimes my friends, my
neighbors, and even my lecturers ordered meal box from me. My signature dishes are nasi
Hainan Rice, Nasi Daun Jeruk, and Fried Chicken with Sambal Matah.
Well, besides being a student, I am also being a teacher for junior high school
students. I teach math and science. I love teaching so much that it gives me something
valuable that I won’t get from anything else. It’s how to understand the way students want
to be taught and how to be treated. By understanding that, I can know the best ways to
make them understand about the lesson and make them comfort with the lesson
eventhough they don’t like it.
During my college life, I was a lecturer assistant for Linear Algebra, Heat
Transfer, Separation, and Chemical Product Design. For these past 3,5 years, I have taken
part in several organizations, whether it was being a staff or board, which are staff of
R&D, Staff of Guest Lecture IATMI, Staff of GL SBE, and in my second year I was
promoted to be a vice head of R&D, and the next year I was asked to be the head of
training and competition because I have the experience in joining several competitions to
apply what I’ve learned.

“Skills for the leadership?”

I think it goes the same for being an employee:
- Integrity and honesty
- Well-organised : timeline and target has been set
- Problem solving skills: creative, logic, and critical thinking
- Cheerful : tetap semangat dan bisa menyemangati orang lain, dont give up easily,
and appresiative

“What is your strengths?”

I’d like to share about my strengths, so:
- Everyday, at night, I always write down a schedule what I am going to do for
tomorrow. And also, I make a list of homeworks and what an important thing to do in
a week. So, I think I am a well-organised person and thats all because I apply a
principle that I have to work smart. It means that you work hard to attain something
but you’ve already made a well-planned strategy to achieve your goal.
- Because I always write down what I am going to do, it helps me much at managing
time, it is rarely for me to meet the deadline. Having so much to do makes me learn
how to be a multitasking one and manage time well, and always try my best to keep
what I’ve done is stay balance. and able to work under pressure with the ability to
handle multiple tasks, prioritize them, and meet deadlines
- I’ve always been able to get along with different types of people. I think it’s because
I’m a good talker and an even better listener. I understand how to treat someone,
people’s condition when they tell me their stories, and because of that they accept my
advice. I’ve learned this skill from teaching and from my organization experience
From that, I’ve learned how to negotiate with people, by understanding them and
know how to talk with them.
- I enjoy doing everything I’ve done, because on my mind, everything I’ve done were
my choices, I decided them, so what to regret then. I always see the possitive sides,
and when it comes to demotivation, I think about what was my first motivation to do
that thing. I keep on motivating myself in every situation. Because of that, my friends
say that I am a cheerful, friendly, and humble one that make them comfort to talk
with.
- I love learning something new and it’s not an easy thing to break down my spirit, I
mean I’m not the easy-to-give-up person. I have the can-do attitude in every
opportunities.
- Capable of learning from others, I am a fast-learner whether it’s about academic or
life-experience.

“What is your weaknesses?”

- I am an overthinking one that it makes me think about the plus and minus things
gonna happen if I do something. But it also helps me think about strategic plans to
overcome the minus things that gonna happen. For the example, I was overthinking to
imagine what the presentation sessions was gonna be when I joined a competition, I
was afraid I can’t answer the questions from the judges, so it made me to learn more
and more. But yes, sometimes it stoped me to do something, so I have to decrease
this. When overthinking comes to me, I suggest myself to relax and think possitively.
- I am a forgetful person, but to cover this up, I always write down things I have to do
and not being a procrastinate person.
- I've learned to make my perfectionism work to my advantage. I have become
proficient at meeting deadlines, and with my attention to detail, I know my work will
be accurate

“Organizations?”
1. Litbang
- My division works as an evaluator, consultant, and as a place for student’s aspiration.
Well, being evaluator means that my division is evaluating projects of other divisions
starts from before the project held and until the day of the projects. My division
projects are to evaluate projects of every divisions, evaluating the staffs of every
divisions, and also evaluate organization’s performance by measuring the vision and
mission of organization. As I’ve mentioned before, we also act as a place for student’s
aspiration and being a consultant to solve the problems that every divisions face.
- We evaluate something objectively by applying some critical thinking methods such
as 7 Basic Tools of Quality, 6 Sigma, and Effort-Impact Diagram. After evaluating,
we give a recommendation based on evaluation data and we give it to the divisions to
help them to foster.
- I was so happy that my division has the highest HRE score, compared to other
divisions. It’s all because my staffs feel comfort working at this division. To make
them comfort and do each project well, I have to make the working-atmosphere
fun. By being close to them, open to them, and be an easy-going one, help us
being close and care one another. I never intructed them to do abc directly, but we
always discuss first so they can get added value. If there is an evaluation or critic
just for one person, I tell it directly, face-to-face, not in a meeting, because it can
make them down or make other staffs think differently about them. And if there is an
evaluation for all staffs, in the meeting I usually ask them what is the evalution,
just to make them realize on what something wrong they’ve done and we discuss the
solutions together to overcome the evaluation.
- And also, don’t forget to appreciate my staffs after they finished doing a project.
2. TC
- Now I am as a Head of Training and Competition that has the responsibility to
facilitate representatives from UI to sharpen their knowledge before competition.
3. SxC
- SxC is an organization to connect the youth to the CEO who wants to learn and make
the impact, through series of events such as seminars and talkshows. As an event
organizer, which includes concepting and executing.
4. MavenPro
- As a marketing consultant to client, Yayasan AIDS Indonesia to tackle their problems
which were to increase the followers in social media and the engagement between
YAIDS and the followers, and to increase the number of volunteers. We offered a
solution on how to change the way they share something on instagram because their
target for millenials but the design and the messages werent relevant and attractive.
By that, we made an editorial plan and KPI for each of strategy.
- I learned that the process is to set who is your target, identify your key messages and
how to approach them, and evaluate the implemented strategy.

“Working Experience?”
1. Eatever
- As a business development, I was assigned to be a merchant acquisition to recruit
some caterers in Jakarta area to be Mitra Eatever. In order to support my jobdesc, I
have to have several softskills that are needed, which are negotiation, patient, and
keeping my spirit always up. The KPI is to approach at least 4 catering each month
with total 12 merchants are registered to be mitra Eatever, but I achieved the goal by
approaching 15 catering. I have to deal with list of hundreds of caterings in Jakarta to
be approached but only few caterings responded it positively. I had to meet them to
talk about the business itself and the agreement. And after they agreed, I have to put
their menu in Eatever website. Not only as a BD, my friend and I were asked to be a
marketing and sales to find the customers. We have to come to several companies in
Jakarta from door to door, to promote the Eatever. Eventhough it was not listed as my
jobdesc, I was so thankful that I learned to be more creative in order to create the
content for marketing and be more confident to promoto things.
2. Indolakto
- I was assigned to solve the waste problem that the company face, which is bad-smell
of waste sludge produced during the waste management process. Because it was a
practical work, I have to apply what I’ve learned, so that I used the fungi Aspergillus
niger to overcome the bad-smell and by adding it to the waste it can increase the
protein content in it so it is good to be utilized as a fish pellets and food for cows.
3. Ayopop
- As a customer support intern, I was responsible for handling to check customers’
inquiry for instance checking their bill and pay it and solving fake success. I was also
initiative to offer the strategy to documented the apps review for the company
feedback as the basis to grow better, because they tend to focus on the first-star
review one.
“Education?”
- Course I like is counting, I love math. I like every courses I learn cause basically I
enjoy doing things. But, I don’t like memorize.

“Why do you want to work with this company?”

I see your company will have a good potential to grow fast, because your mission is to
help people’s life. I’m personally drawn to this mission because by helping people you can
also get innovation of not only being a company, but also being a life partner for people
Based on my background, I have trained to understand what people want patiently,
ways they want to be treated, and how to solve problem. I am sure by the combination of my
background, I can be the part of the developing process of your company.

“Explain in your own words how you understand the responsibilities of the position we
are interviewing you for? What sales actually does?”
“Where do you see yourself in 5 years”

Well, I find it satisfying to help something to grow by solving a problem, so that’s way I am
so much interested in developing something, so I really want to be involved in that.
Developing means that you evaluate something, and giving recommendation based on the
evaluation and my knowledge about things that I want to develop. So I see myself in 5-10
years to be a product innovator in a company. I am sure being a sales intern makes me learn
how to understand to analyze market’s condition, how the sales stuffs are going on, and etc. I
see this experience playing an important role in helping me make that decision and I am so
excited about the management or communications skills I’ll gain with this opportunity.
I also see myself as a leader of a position. Being a leader! Creating the new leaders, make a
company grow better together with my team, and ......

“Tell me the last time you....”

1. Failed
- Not getting accepted in several company I enrolled (Nutrifood, Paragon, dll) and I
have ever been in a position when I applied for more than 20 companies only 1 called
me back. At the same time, I joined two competitions and lost. From this experience
I’ve learned something valuable, that everyone has their own best time and best
position. Getting rejection doest mean we are not capable in it, but it’s just not the
best for us, we just dont meet their qualifications so it means that there will be another
position that fits to us. Failure and rejection mean we can be better for the next
opportunity as long as we evaluate ourselves and change. We should thankful for that
because our failure quota has been reduced so the next time will be the best time. I
have read something that Obama has retired as president at 55, but Trump started at
70. Someone became a CEO at 25, while others might become a CEO at 50. Everyone
is running their own race, in their own time. So, just be relax and work & pray harder.
We’re neither early nor late, we are very much on time. I experienced this when the
next year I applied internship and got the call back and joining competitions and I
won.
2. Succeeded
I was very thankful to get accepted in University Indonesia. The college life has made
me a better version of myself. When I was a senior high school students I was a shy
person, an ambitious one that just foccused on study and study. But in college life, I
forced myself to change to be more brave to actively speaking in public, taking role in
organization, and adapting in new environment. By that, I had the opportunity to be
vice head of Research and Development division, and I am so excited to lead them
and work together to create impact to the development of ourselves and the
organization. Besides, I was also a head training and competition IATMI SMUI and I
feel so content to see the contingents we trained to win the competition they join.
Those experiences has changed me successfully.
“What major challenges and problems did you face before? How did you handle
them?”

It happened at the first time of Litbang IMTK FTUI 2017 stewardship. When we were doing
a project, Sbux, as we worked as a team, some team members were not fulfilling their
responsibilities on time and thus pulling the whole project behind. I had to use some
leadership skills. I did a personal approach to them, asking what happened and why they
procrastinated on doing the project. We discussed a solution and make a commitment if they
never did that again. After that, I followed them up and at the same time I did something to
make them felt close to me and felt comfort. Everything needs process, and Alhamdulillah
my staffs always do the project on time now.

Eatever : deal with the boss

My CEO gave me a detail jobdesc at first but during the days of working there was always
additional work that I have to do. Thats super ok for me because I can learn something new,
but the thing that I dont really like from my CEO was that she didnt give me isntruction or
briefing for things I do and when I did it wrong she tend to blame my friend and I, she
blamed on mistakes that occured because of she didnt tell us clearly. And also she never
appreciated us. Everytime she had an innovation, she didnt have any clear breakdown work,
she was not well-prepared. So during the execution, there will be something missed. She was
not a good listener too, she didnt believe us when we give a recommendation until someone
that she thought is better than her talking the same recommendation then she will accept it.
This really gives me an unforgettable lesson that I can learn from her the attitudes that leader
shoud and shouldn’t have. She was so persistent and a hard worker to attain her goal and her
mission just to help others but for the execution were not going well.

“How do you handle stressful situations and working under pressure?”

Well life is not being happy all the time, so it’s common to meet the stress condition and
sometimes have to work under pressure. I’ve ever felt so much in pressure, but I suggested to
myself not to be panic. My college life was hard I think. Everyday I had bunch of homework
that I have to do maximal, besides I have students that was gonna face National Examination,
my parents asked me why I was too busy, being a lecturer assistant, and joining organizations
and competitions. At first, I was stressed, but I tried to calmed myself down, I rethought that
this was my choice, I decide it, so enjoy the callenging environment then! Thing that helps
me to keep my blood down was Prioritizing my responsibilities so I had a clear idea of what
needed to be done when, it has helped me effectively manage pressure on the job. Back then,
it was a smart-work.
“Do you consider yourself successful?”

I am very happy with my progress. I have set myself some goals and I am on a path to
achieve them. This position will move me to another step closer to my success. This position
is gonna make me learn a lot, so it can be a stepping stone for my improvement.

“Why should we hire you?”

Because I’m interested in learning something new and challenging myself, so I’d love the
chance to dig in much deeper with Danone to be the part of Sales Team. Not only to develop
myself, but I want to help Danone to manange sales stuffs. I have several experiences that
will help me with this position I am an inisiative and responsive one that attention to details
and I am visioner. This helps me to make a plan abcd for any activity. I can work under
pressure, well this needed because we have to get along with the business and people. I have
the strong commintment in everything I do and I will give my dedication to them.
