2. Known Issues for Release v01.00.09

2.1 Limitations with Flow Control
The function of the switch has been optimized to provide flow control for most typical
operating scenarios. However when ports are configured in half duplex mode, this
device can support back pressure (flow control for half duplex mode) for only up to 17
ports.

Please note that the flow control will work for all 48 ports in full duplex mode which is the
typical scenario.

2.2 Intermittent SNMP Trap Issue

On a very infrequent basis, the switch is generating unsolicited 802.1X authentication
failure traps.

3. Issues Resolved in Release v01.00.09

3.1 802.1x
• 802.1x authentication fail when using PEAP.
• In the earlier version of code, 802.1X setting of Force Unauthorized on ports was
lost after reboot. This issue has been resolved in this version.
• In the earlier version of code there was a compatibility issue with Ciscos ACS
server. On setting a port in "Radius.None" authentication mode with Cisco ACS
radius server, user with wrong/username password would erroneously get
authenticated on this port. This has now been resolved.

3.2 ARP
Static ARP entry is lost after reboot the switch in earlier versions of code. This has been
fixed in this release.

3.3 ACL
• ACL web page display error for “Any” radio button for mac address range and
mask. Settings on create page were not being displayed on the mdofiy page.
This is now fixed.
• ACL help web page display error format for MAC Address format, and VLAN ID
range. This has been corrected on the help page.

4. Upgrading Software
For instructions on how to upgrade the Switch to this firmware version, please refer to
the 3Com Baseline Switch 2948-SFP Plus User Guide (part number 10016089-AA).

5. Additional Information
5.1 Backing up Configuration Files
Please note that prior to backing up configuration information, you must select Save
Configuration on the web interface. This saves the current “running configuration” to the
switch’s internal non-volatile memory. This applies regardless of web browser being
used.
