Hakelsoft-p - risk assessment software

according to IEC 62305-2:2010

Hakelsoft-p is risk assessment software of possible average annual losses caused by lightning flash. The
calculation is done in conformity with standard IEC 62305-2:2010 and it is mandatory according to public
notice on Technical Requirements for Buildings no. 268/2009 Sb., dated 12th of August 2009. The task of the
program is to maximize the simplicity and effectiveness of the designer’s work in risk management.

Hakelsoft-p program work

Program installation and registration
To download the program, simply visit the website www.hakelsoft.eu, select Download and download the
relevant file. After installing the program, you are prompted to enter the registration code. You can get
the registration key on a website www.hakelsoft.eu using the registration form and we will send you the key
then. You will not only get the registration key to hakelsoft-p, but also other information about HAKEL Ltd.
and its products. Registration is free of charge.

Project menu Navigation bar

File
This menu allows creating a new project, opening an existing project, and opening an example (here are
case studies from the standard, part E). Another option is to save a completed project, print or print to a file.
The program generates a complete text output where all entered data and calculated risks are included.
It also contains a complete evaluation of the protective precaution. Regular printing is generated in html
format and print to file generates output to MS Word, where you can continue to work with the calculation
(e.g. text addition, etc.). The printing itself is available in two versions than, basic or complete printing. It is
also possible exit the program from this menu.

Tools

This menu enables opening a project questionnaire. This questionnaire can be presented to the investor or
the project submitter to supplement the information needed to risk assessment. Another field is recalcula-
tion of fire load. To enter the correct fire risk value, we need to know this value from a fire report. The value
is given in Kg/m2 in the fire report and in MJ/m2 in the risk calculation.

Help
Under this menu we can find the help itself, case study, automatic email support and map of storm days
(so called isokeraunic map) for Czech Republic and Slovakia. This map shows the number of storm days per
year. It is possible to determine the number of lightning flashes to the ground per km2 per a year for a given
structure location using this map. Finally, we will find information about the current program version here.

While working with the program it is necessary to be aware that particular procedure must be followed for
the correct assessment. It means that this program proceeds according to the case studies in the standard.
This procedure must be followed for the assessment:

1) Filling in information about the structure “structure characteristic“.

2) Filling in information about “unprotected structure”.
3) Protected structure - creation of protective measures for the structures (it is possible to create mul-
tiple types of solution) “protected structure”.

1) Structure characteristic
In the main window Structure we gradually enter all input parameters for the building. We will discuss all the
setup options step by step in the next sections.

the queen of power

3
Hakelsoft

Structure type
We select the building type using the scroll menu. The type of structure affects the amount of losses that
may be caused by a lightning flash. Losses types are divided into L1, L2, L3, L4 according to the standard.
The final losses are affected by the type of structure. Just below the structure selection there is the possibility
of choosing whether animals will be presented in the property.

Collection area
Collection area can be used to define the number of dangerous events (lightning flash) that are likely to
hit the structure. Standard considers the area bounded by a line at a distance of three times the height of
the structure as shown in the picture.

The first option for collection area calculation is to manually enter this collection area after the collection
area has been calculated. The second and more often used option is to calculate this collection area
according to the figure in the standard by entering a rectangular structure where we specify only the
dimensions (length, width, height). Once these dimensions are entered, collection area is automatically
counted. It is important to point out that the second solution is a simplification and that complex and bro-
ken buildings may distort the result.

the queen of power

4
Hakelsoft

Location factor
Location factor is an important parameter when calculating dangerous events. For a solitary building on
top of a hill, the risk is eight times higher than for an object surrounded by higher objects. It is important to
check this factor properly and specify it correctly. A similar coefficient is used to determine the location of
engineering services.

Storm days
In order to determine the size of the risk, we need to know the extent of storm activity in the territory, thus
number of lightning flashes to the ground per km2 per a year. Number of storm days is illustrated on the
isokeraunic map. If a user has access to more exact data, they can be used without any problem. We will
complete these details in the program. It does not matter whether we fill in Td or Ng, the program automat-
ically recalculates the second value.

Structure
Here we will fill in name, type and location of the structure. These filled-in data is transferred to the text
output from the program.

Elaborated by
We will fill-in data about calculation elaborator. This data can be saved for the next project and continues
to be transferred to the output from the program.

Notes
We will notice overall conclusion from the calculation. Any text can be written in. These notes are trans-
ferred to the output of the program

Print option / Default parameters

- There is a possibility of the risks final print at the very bottom of the column Structure on the left side.
We are going to work with those risks, calculate them and we also want to mention them in the
output of the program.
- We can view the default parameters throughout the work in the column at the bottom right. These
values are recalculated by successive entering and must reach a tolerable RT risk.

2) Unprotected structure
In the menu Unprotected structure we enter all input parameters. We will discuss all the parameters step
by step in the next sections.

Incoming utility lines

A direct flash to or near a structure is not the only risk of damage. The more frequent cause of the damage
is the overvoltage that enters the object from the connected line. This causes a direct risk to the connected
equipment and increases the overall risk. These are all low voltage distributions, telecommunication and
data networks. Based on the bonding pipes are not considered.

the queen of power

6
Hakelsoft

Using the Add button we can add to the project all power lines that enter the object. These lines can be
renamed anyhow. With the selected power line, we also set what kind of power line is it about. We repeat
the entry process until data is complete for all added power lines.

Section
Each power line has its section, these sections can be divided. By dividing the system into sections, we can
reduce the collection area and thereby reduce the final risk for construction. The section is a part in which
power line have the same parameters. In such a structure results that the building with cable line has lower
values than building with overhead line.

Again, it is possible to enter any number of sections that we can individually name and eventually remove.

the queen of power

7
Hakelsoft

In the selected section, we specify the parameters of the power line. For example the length of a power
line is automatically preset at 1000 m. The length can be adjusted anyway and if this information is not
known, standard values can be used. Next, we choose what kind of power line it is, whether it is an out-
ernal line or cable line. In the case of buried cable line, soil resistivity must be selected. If this information
is unknown, standard values can be used. Another selection is the presence of a two transformer wind-
ings that affects the number of dangerous events. We must not forget the environment factor, which we
choose from the rolling window according to the actual parameters. The environment factor also affects
the number of dangerous events.

Entering sections for individual lead is repeated for all sections.

Adjacent structure
The adjacent structure can be added in the right part of the menu incoming lines. For such a building, we
enter the collecting area of a neighbouring building and the location factor. For the neighbouring building
to be a threat to the protected building, it must be connected to one of the power lines. When lightning
strikes the neighbouring building, the lightning current is brought into the protected structure via the power
line.

LPZ
In this menu we define the parameters for each zone. The zone is part of an object that has the same param-
eters. We can work with an object as a single zone, or it can be divided into parts. By dividing a protected
building into multiple zones, it is possible to reduce the overall risk. If we are working with the structure as a
single zone, it is necessary to work with the worst parameters for the entire structure. In this way, we increase
the overall risk for the structure and at the same time increase the overall need for protection measures.
The individual used necessary protection measures must be applied only to the given zone, not to the en-
tire structure.

At the beginning of the LPZ file is LPS and LPL selection. If we do not have wide experience with risk cal-
culations, we skip this point in an unprotected building and focus on it in a protected building where we
will assign individual protective measures. Advanced users may, on the basis of experience, estimate the
protection measures, enter it directly, and also make it possible to convert an unprotected building to
a protected building. This allows shortening the entire calculation. Nevertheless, we recommend always
making the building unprotected and then creating a protected structure, or make several solutions. From
these solutions, you can choose the most appropriate one.

Zones
Entering zones is similar to the previous steps. Use the “Add outernal” or “Add internal” button to set the
required number of outernal and internal zones. Individual zones can be renamed according to own re-
quirements. We further work with each zone separately and enter all the necessary data for the calculation
as shown below.

the queen of power

9
Hakelsoft

Outernal and internal zones

We will select the zone with which we will work in the next steps and enter the following characteristics. In
the case of multi-zone structure, we will repeat this step for other zones as well.

Before choosing a fire risk, there is a choice of yes/no in each zone for whether a museum or gallery will be
located in the zone. This point affects only the L3 risk.

Risk of fire
We will select the required risk from the scrolling window. Risk of fire is one of the important parameters and
it is a parameter that should be accurate, otherwise there is a large calculation distortion for the particular
building. Ideally, we will use for the specific zone values given in a fire report. This data is in kilograms, so a
fire load conversion is required. Help can be found in the tool menu Converting the fire load, where the
values can be converted from kg/m2 to Mj/m2.

Measures to reduce the effects of fire

Another parameter that we specify in the zones is the risk of reducing the effects of a fire. These are protec-
tion measures such as fire extinguishers, alarm systems, fire-resistant sections, protected escape routes and
automatic fire extinguishing installations. We only consider this parameter in the internal zones.

Special risk type

In this parameter, we focus on a size of the structure, a number of people in the structure and their possible
panic and subsequent evacuation from the structure.

10
Hakelsoft

Protective measures against the injury and type of surface

From the rolling window we choose protection measures for the outernal zone and a type of surface. Both
parameters affect the risk of injury by step and touch voltage.

Internal zones

LPZ- spatial shielding

One of the internal zones parameters is their spatial shielding. In a better shielded zone, the devices will be
less at risk by an electromagnetic field. To enter individual zones, the following window is used, where the
individual zones are added and can be brought in by the button Allocate for a single internal zone. In this
case, the program works automatically with the spatial shielding.

Here we use the same procedure described in the chapter of the outernal zones - see above.

Internal systems

Internal systems are intended to describe the parameters of connected devices and measures that are
applied to reduce the risk of a failure in the event of a lightning strike.

In the first step it is necessary to add an appliance to the particular line. Or it is needed to be defined, which
appliances will be connected to which input line. Here again we can create several types of appliances
connected to different input lines and name the individual appliances.

the queen of power

11
Hakelsoft

Further it is necessary to assign individual appliances with the button to a given zone - in other words, we
specify which appliances will be connected to the incoming engineering system in which zones. This point
is important for dividing the entire structure and inside equipment. We repeat this point for each appliance.

Impulse withstand voltage

Equipment’s impulse withstand voltage is overvoltage level that does not endangered the equipment. This
value is stated by each manufacturer of the end equipment and is selected from the scrolling window ac-
cording to reality. In general, 2.5kV for low voltage systems and 1.5kV for communication systems are used.

Tracing lines
The cable may be shielded or unshielded. We set shield resistance of the shielded cable, which is connec-
ted to the bonding busbar at both ends. If the cable is not connected at both ends or is unshielded, we
enter the loop size from the scrolling window. Another possibility is to select the separating interface check
box, when it is necessary to comply the conditions according to EN 62305-4 ed.2.

Coordinated protection
Finally, we choose coordinated protection corresponding to the LPL level. In this example, we are currently
filling the parameters for an unprotected building, so we will go back to that step later in the protected
building where we will enter individual protection measures. Then we choose the protection from the scroll-
ing window according to the protection need of the given object. If protection parameters need to be
improved, it is possible to choose up to 3 times better protection when it is assumed that in the engineering
documentation we are working with arrester with better parameters than is recommended. This is an in-
crease in leakage current and a decrease in residual voltage.

Losses
Losses are divided into four types:
- Loss of human life
- Loss of service to the public
- Loss of cultural heritage
- Economical loss

We gradually assign each loss and say how they are to be determined.

Loss of human life

This loss can be caused by:
- Injuries of living beings caused by electric shock
- Physical damage
- Failure of electrical and electronic systems

It is necessary to enter each loss and the associated zone.

the queen of power

13
Hakelsoft

We choose the calculation style of the four options:

- Count with typical values – In this case the loss is determined by the type of structure and the rele-
vant coefficients

- Specify advanced parameters – The value is calculated based on the actual number of people
and time for the particular zone. In the case of a multi zone building, it is necessary to divide the
number of people for more zones and to enter in each zone their real values. After entering values,
we can monitor the changing risk.

- Enter the resulting value – If the value is known, it is possible to enter it directly.

- Loss is not considered – We will use this option if the loss in a given zone cannot occur. As an exam-
ple, we can mention an external zone where it is assumed that people will not move outside the
building in the storm.

Loss of service to the public

This loss can be caused by:
- Physical damage
- Failure of electrical and electronic systems

The setting is similar to the loss of human lives. Again we enter the individual losses and the assigned zones.
In addition, we can find here a choice of public service type and the ability to set the number of people
served from the zone (e.g. for the evaluation of the risk on the mobile operator’s signal transmitter, we will
consider the number of persons, who would be affected in the case of failure and interruption of supply).
In our example case, we check not consider, because there is no such risk.

the queen of power

14
Hakelsoft

Loss of cultural heritage

This loss can be caused by:
- Physical damage

The settings are similar to the previous cases. Instead of endangered people, we fill in a financial loss in
proportion to the total value of the protected structure. This type of loss is filled, for example, when we do
a calculation for a structure that is preserved or kept as a cultural monument. We do not consider this loss
in our model case.

the queen of power

15
Hakelsoft

Economical loss
This loss can be caused by:
- Injuries of living beings caused by electric shock
- Physical damage
- Failure of electrical and electronic systems

The setting is similar to previous losses, plus we fill in the value of the structure and its content.

Risks
This is a menu where we find a complete table of each risk values (R). In a case the structure is divided
into zones, the individual risks must be divided as well. We monitor R1 values to individual zones and to
the whole structure in our model case. We control and monitor individual values in this table. In other pro-
cedures while entering protective measures, we monitor the changing values and evaluate which risk is
necessary to focus on.

the queen of power

16
Hakelsoft

Evaluation of cost of loss

The last menu is the evaluation of cost of loss, where we assign individual protective measures for the zones
and the whole structure and prices of these measures. The result is an evaluation of protective measures
annual cost and of annual savings. In a case we create multiple solutions with different protective mea-
sures, it is possible to compare the solutions and choose which one is the most cost effective. If an evalua-
tion of cost loss is not required, this point can be skipped

Default parameters
Throughout the process of entering an unprotected building, we are monitoring changing default param-
eters. These values can be controlled and reduced to the required tolerable values in the following steps
(protected structure).

3) Protected structure
Creating solution
In the introductory menu, in the middle of the start screen, there is a field option to copy the selected
solution. Clicking this field will create a new solution which can be renamed (optionally removed). We
can create several solutions here.

In the new created solution, we continue to work and set all necessary protective measures, which we will
show in the next steps.

the queen of power

17
Hakelsoft

Below we monitor the current risk status for the chosen solution throughout entering the protective mea-
sures.

Protective structure (entering protective measures)

We are entering the LPS protective measure first in the next step. For our model building, a smaller office
building, we enter LPS III in the first solution.

We are following the changing values - the risk has decreased, but protection is not sufficient at the mo-
ment.

Another protective measure we enter is the SPD at the entrance to the building within the equipotential
bonding. This step will significantly affect our risk.

the queen of power

18
Hakelsoft

We are following the changing values - here we can see how the SPD at the entrance changes values in
a significant way. Risk has decreased, protection is still not sufficient.

The tolerable loss of human life risk after LPS and LPL protection assignment is still insufficient. Therefore, we
will focus on further protective measures in the next calculation.

This will be a measure to reduce the consequences of a fire. In our model case, we chose the installation
of a fire extinguisher in each internal zone.

We will also include protective measures against the injury.

Looking at the current risk now we can see that after entering these protective measures, the loss of human
life risk has reduced below tolerable risk.

The loss of economic values risk is still high so we will focus on internal systems to reduce it and work on
equipment protection. We will choose coordinated protection in internal systems as an equipment protec-
tion. Here is an option to choose whether only equipment with suitable resistance and withstand voltage
level will be connected in the installation. We can also use the possibility of choosing line trace, which will
also affect the loss of economic value risk.

the queen of power

19
Hakelsoft

We reduced the risk of loss of economic values by adding these measures. It is not necessary to get the loss
of economic value risk into a tolerable risk, it is about value of a possible risk for a period. It is simply assumed
that the loss of economic values may happen over a period of time.

Now the calculation is complete and we can go into the output itself and printout the calculation. If we
want to change the protective measures or suggest completely different ones, we can create another
solution and proceed in a similar way with entering different combinations of protective measures.

Note: after checking the risk menu we can modify the protective measures. We are looking for the most
efficient and economical solution by combining protection using LPS and LPL. For comparison, we can
set up another solution and proceed as before.

We add the prices of protective measures to the tab to the required solution / valuation of the losses
costs. The cost of a protective measure that is not primary created to reduce the risk of losses should be
entered as zero. If valuation of the losses costs should not be done, this point can be skipped.

It is recommended to work with the standard EN 62305 – 2 ed.2 while working with hakelsoft-p.

Hakelsoft-g - rolling sphere method software

according to IEC 62305-3:2010

Hakelsoft-g is program for rolling sphere method calculation according to IEC 62305-3:2010. Program’s
advantage is the detailed calculation of the protected area of the calculated structure, including a com-
plete graphical output. Design and analysis of LPS using the rolling sphere method according to the stan-
dard IEC 62305-3:2010 requires a large number of calculations and three-dimensional simulations. This soft-
ware allows testing of any structure. The object is modelled by entering regular dimensions and sequential
entering of protective measures (circuit wire, leads and lightning rods). A protected area is plotted after
completion this data and during sequential entering we can see which places are not protected ade-
quately. The task of this program is to simplify and streamline designer’s work as much as possible when
calculating the rolling sphere.

Project

Rolling sphere radius

We fill in all the necessary information for the calculation in the “project” tab. One of the first parameters
is the rolling sphere radius. The rolling sphere radius is already evaluated for the given structure due to the
specified protection level. We will select the corresponding one from the scroll window.

Structure
We enter the regular dimensions of the calculated structure in the structure section. The structure size is
transferred to the right into the plotted environment. We will gradually follow up on changes while entering
protective measures in this environment.

Measures (peripaeral wire)

We add the exact position of the peripaeral wire in the part Measures. Note in the figure on the right that
after adding the peripaeral wire in our example, there will be a significant reduction of the building risk.

the queen of power

23
Hakelsoft

Lightning rods
We can add arbitrarily number of lightning rods. Each lightning rod can be described anyhow and various
parameters can be added, thus its exact position and height. We can enter given lightning rod’s coordi-
nates directly by hand or move it to the desired position by holding the required trap in the right field. In the
case of a high structure, it is possible to make a lead from the lightning rod where we can create a similar
height to the building.

the queen of power

24
Hakelsoft

In the same way that we have entered the first lightning rod, we enter additional lightning rods that we
place into the required position using the mouse. In our model example of a simple regular building, the
location of the circuit wire and placing of six lightning rods about one meter in size was sufficient to protect
the structure. The result is shown in the picture.

It is possible to bring the calculated building image into the calculation in the tool section (if the construc-
tion has already been realized). We bring the picture from the map in the given ratio scale and there is the
option to specify the accuracy of the calculated building. We insert the image from three possible options
in the section Background. After inserting the image can be exactly set on the background of the structure
and optionally transparent. The advantage of image selection and its inserting into a project is to get a
bigger overview of the calculated structure and there are clearly visible positions of the lightning rods on
the structure.

Information
We enter the building letter head and contractor’s contact. Here we also find the possibility to look at the
exact coordinates of individual protection measures (lightning rods).

Hakelsoft-g3D - rolling sphere method in 3D soft-

ware according to IEC 62305-3:2010

Hakelsoft-g3D is program for rolling sphere method calculation according to IEC 62305-3:2010. Program’s
advantage is the detailed calculation of the protected area of the calculated structure, including a com-
plete graphical output. Design and analysis of LPS using the rolling sphere method according to the stan-
dard IEC 62305-3:2010 requires a large number of calculations and three-dimensional simulations. This soft-
ware allows testing of any irregular structure or group of buildings in 3D space exactly according to the
requirements of the standard. The 3D object model is imported from the CAD application. Then, the level
of protection against the lightning LPS is specified, and the protected area is plotted by step-by-step enter-
ing the protection measures such as circuit wire, leads and lightning conductors. A 3D object model with
protected and unprotected areas marked in colour is finally displayed. The task of this program is to simplify
and streamline designer’s work as much as possible when calculating the rolling sphere

Project menu
File
This menu allows opening an existing project. Other options include importing a saved drawing that we
have made in a CAD application. Further we can save or print the project here. The program generates
a complete text and graphic output, which contains all the entered data, including the drawing. It also
contains a complete evaluation of the protective measures, including the individual coordinates of each
absorber, lead and circuit wire. Printing is generated in html format and it is possible to continue work with
the output. It is also possible exit the program from this menu.

Help
Under this menu we can find help itself, program information, automatic email support, and a link to www.

Drawing
At the beginning of each project, it is necessary to create an outline of the calculated structure or of
structure system at the required ratio scale in the CAD application. This drawing is necessary to save as Au-
toCAD2010 (and lower) ASCII DXF (*.dxf) for import into the program hakelsoft-g3D. We can save the saved
drawing type as needed to the desired folder, from which we will open the drawing from hakelsoft-g3D in
the next step.

Import plan
We choose the appropriate saved file and open it by the Import plan button selection.

After opening the file, a dialog box will appear to select layers for import, in this window we enter the ba-
sic size and height of the structure. At this point, it is most important to define the X coordinate, thus the
length of the structure. Other lengths are automatically recalculated from a CAD drawing. We can also set
the buildings height and absorbers height, but these parameters can be edited in the next steps as well.
Choose the Select layers button after entering the dimensions.

After choosing a button to select layers, it comes to plotting the object in a CAD environment and in a 3D
environment. We will work with the object in the next steps. We will apply protective measures to the CAD
environment such as circuit absorbers, leads and absorbers. The protected area of the entire structure will
be gradually plotted in the 3D environment on the right. Each yellow point in the image is the centre of one
rolling sphere, which touches the building. The program aims to identify critical locations.

Rolling sphere radius

We complete all the necessary information for the calculation in the Project tab. One of the first parameters
is the rolling sphere radius. The radius of the rolling sphere is already pre-evaluated for the given building
due to the specified protection level. We select the one that matches radiuses from the scrolling window.

Buildings
We have imported one building in our model case. If we draw a set of buildings in the CAD application,
we would see several buildings here. We will show this example at the end. We can rename the buildings
anyhow when viewing a building detail. There is an option to adjust the height of the building and one of
the important points is the choice of the perimeter absorbers, to which we enter the so-called lower and
higher bound, thus its coordinates.

29
Hakelsoft

After entering the perimeter absorber and its coordinates, the protection area of the structure is redrawn
in the 3D graphic field and the unprotected parts of the building are immediately visible. These parts of the
structure will be protected by the absorbers in the next steps.

Absorbers
We add any number of absorbers in this box. Each absorber can be described anyhow and various pa-
rameters can be added to it, thus its exact height.

We enter the coordinates of a given absorber or choose them by move in the CAD environment and we
can again monitor changes in the protected area in the 3D graphical field on the right. We try to com-
pletely protect the structure by adding additional absorbers. In the case of a high structure, it is possible to
make a lead from the absorber, where we create a similar height to the building.

Hakelsoft

In the same way we have entered the first absorber, we enter additional ones that we place in the required
position by the mouse. As we can see on the example placing of the circuit wire and six absorbers about
one meter in size was adequate for our structure protection. The result is shown in the picture.

Project
In this section, we enter the building letter head and the contractor’s contact.

Background
In this part of the background it is possible to bring the calculated structure’s image into the calculation (if
the construction has already been realized). We bring in the image in one of the options e.g. from the clip-
board, from a file or from a map source. We bring in the picture from the map in the given ratio scale. The
image can be precisely set on the background of the structure and optionally transparent in the Transform
part. The advantage of choosing the image and bringing it into the project is that we gave better over-
view about the calculated structure and there are clearly visible positions of the absorbers on the structure.
These positions can help, for example, in the realization of the lightning conductor.

Barriers on the roof

If any obstructions such as air conditioners or ventilation exits appear on the roof, we place the absorber
of a given height and place it in a required position. Everything is visible in the following picture.

System of a structures
As shown in the picture, it is possible to simulate multiple structures of different dimensions with different
parameters in Hakelsoft-g3D. Just model these structures in the CAD application, bring them into the pro-
gram and work with the program as in the previous steps

Hakelsoft-t – separation distance and protective

angle calculation software according to
IEC 62305-3 ed. 2

The latest of the softwares is hakelsoft-t software. It is a package of formulas used to calculate a separa-
tion distance – a set of many leads, separation distance calculation (even for sloping roofs with a lightning
rods on the ridge) and protective angle calculation including the rolling sphere dropping according to IEC
62305-3 ed. 2. The outputs and calculations can be printed.

Program installation

To download the program, simply visit the website www.hakelsoft.eu, select Download and download the
relevant file. After installing the program, you are prompted to enter the registration code. You can get
the registration key on a website www.hakelsoft.eu using the registration form and we will send you the key
then. Registration is free of charge.

Hakelsoft-t: separation distance calculation – systems with many conductors

With this help, we calculate a separation distance on the object where the grid system is. LPS and object
dimensions selection is a matter of course as well as a choice between air or masonry calculation. Finished
calculation can be printed and added to the project documentation.

Hakelsoft-t: separation distance calculation – sloping roofs with air-termination rods at ridge
Here we can calculate separation distance for a “standard” object with a saddle roof, where each lead
is individually grounded. There is also the selection of LPS and the object dimensions, as well as the choice
between air or masonry calculation, even in the case of so-called hidden leads.

Hakelsoft-t: protective angle calculation

The table in the standard does not have as corresponding value as the direct calculation of an angle size,
which forms a lightning rod on a flat or sloping surface at different heights and LPS. Protected equipment
must be hidden in the protection area. It is necessary not to forget the drop of the rolling sphere.

not have the appropriate permissions to access the item.” and does not open up.

It is necessary to start the program as an administrator (right-click on the icon and select “Run as
administrator”).

5. I want to start the program, but different software keeps opening (win, rar etc.)

In this case a change of file extension association according to this procedure is needed:
Windows 7: select Start button | Default programs | Associate a file type or protocol with a program. There
you can find the relevant file extension, left-click on the set line and select Program change. Now you can
choose one of the previously installed applications or random application by standard browsing through
computer’s hard disk.
Windows 10: use search box (magnifier icon in the lower left) and write Control Panel. Choose: All Control
Panel Items | Default programs | Associate a file type or protocol with a program. Now you can change
default program to the file extension (note: It can take some time Windows 10 to retrieves the list of
extensions.

6. Despite successful installation I can’t register into the program and Demo version keeps opening.
• Make sure you have a current username and key
• Check if your username and key are written correctly (no diacritic, no gaps, capital letters)
• Once you start Demo version and you want to switch to full version, it is necessary to uninstall the pro-
gram, download it again and by the first program opening enter relevant username and key (program
has remembered Demo version and won’t let you further).
