A. Preliminary Activities

1. Review

The teacher will show a flash card containing decimal number

Ask:
What is the place value of N?
What do we call the dot in the middle of the numbers?
Any number added by zero is the number itself

2. Motivation

Where do you usually see decimal numbers?

The teacher will show the enlarge receipt and ask them how did
they add the amounts with decimal.

B. Developmental Activities

1. Presentation

The teacher will introduce the steps in adding decimals

Steps in adding decimal numbers

1) Arrange the numbers vertically by aligning the decimal

points
2) Add 0 as fillers to line up the numbers properly
3) Add

Using a 10x10 grid lines the teacher will show how to align the
decimal before solving
