When I hear the word “Pharmacology” the first thing I relate it to are the pharmacies
that I have been to and the drugs that I have been prescribed. However, in the long run I
learned that the pharmacology subject is more than just pharmacies and drugs, it actually
focuses on a whole range of topics that gives understanding about drugs and their actions
on the human body. It is also more than just memorizing the name of those drugs, but it is
about understanding their uses and relating to them with a person’s health.

In this course, I learned that the pharmacology subject is the basement or the
foundation for those people who wants to get into the medicine world because it is going to
build their medical career that is why I believe that it is important in the field that I want to
pursue after I graduate as a medical technology student because pharmacology lies not only
in knowing what to prescribe to a patient but also in knowing what not to prescribe. In the
clinical or medical world, pharmacology is essential in keeping a patient safe during and after
treatment. It is important for people with the medical profession to have a wide
understanding of the potential interactions, proper dosage and how the medicine prescribed
might affect their patients. It is their responsibility to accurately prescribe those medicines to
their patient without destroying or having a negative effect on their health. If the
pharmacology subject did not exist and if we did not know what a drug does to our body and
vice versa, then modern medicine will definitely not exist and modern technology will not
develop. Without pharmacology, people would still be using old remedies for medicine,
which do not have much certainty and accuracy as compared to the modern medicine and
technology that we have now. It has always been my dream to be able to provide people
who are in need of medical attention, I may not be able to help them right now but hopefully
with this subject, I will be able to learn more, relate more in order grow more, and to develop
medicine that could benefit other people. I know I may not be the smartest student in this
course, but I think what makes me different from the rest is that I am always eager to learn
more even though my grades may not reflect it that much. I believe that I am better and I can
be better with experience and as time goes by.

I believe that I deserve to pass this course as much as everyone else in my block
because I am eager and I always make sure that I do my best even though I am having a
hard time retaining all of the information that I encounter in this course. I believe I deserve to
pass this class because I pay attention to my professor, I come to class on time, I never
disrupt the class, and I am not rude to anyone in the class. I believe that I deserve to pass
because I do all my homeworks on time, I try my best to take the online quizzes given to me
and reflect on my answers that I did not get correctly. In group projects, I am the kind of
person who initiates and finish the projects on time, I believe that I always give my 100% in
individual and group projects. I never free load because I want to be deserving of the grades
that I receive, I do not wish to become a burden to anyone. With all the effort I put in this
course, I think I deserve to pass because if I don’t, then it will definitely become a big loss for
me, I do not wish to become a burden to my parents because they already have four
children that they need to feed and provide good education for. I know that it is their
responsibility to provide good education for me and my siblings, but I believe that it is my
duty and responsibility to give back to them by graduating on time and not failing any
subjects in college. I went to college to learn, to grow as a person and in hopes of being
successful so that I may be able to give back to my parents, so that I will be able to take care
of them just like how they took care of me. Lastly, I deserve to pass this course because I
still have room for improvement, with my mistakes in this course, I learn from them, and this
course is just part of the obstacles that I need to surpass and the steps that leads to a better
career and life. I may not be the best student in this course, but I am always optimistic and
always make sure to be a responsible person who puts in all my effort, dedication and hard
work because in the end I know that it will pay off, and I will be given the opportunity to move
on to the next course of my life.
