ORGANISATION STUDY SUJALA PIPES

Every organization irrespective of nature and mission may be view as financial entity.
Management of the organization is confronted with issue and decision about source of
finance, its capital structure and credit policy. In order to take strategic decisions the
management need to assess the progress and the performance of the organization.

1.1MEANING OF ORGANISATION

Organization is the foundation upon which the whole structure of the management is
built. Organization is related with developing a frame work where the total work is
divided into manageable components in order to facilitate the achievements of
objectives or goals. Thus, organization is the structure or mechanism (machinery) that
enables living things to work together. In a static sense, an organization is a structure or
machinery managed by group of individuals who are working together towards a
common goal. Alike `management’, the term `organization’ has also been used in
number of ways. Broadly speaking, the term `organization’ is also used in four different
sense: as a process, as a structure of relationship, as a group of person and as a system.
Organization is a process of identification and grouping the work to be performed,
defining and delegating responsibilities and authority, and establishing relationship for
the purpose of enabling people to work most effectively together to accomplishing
objectives. Organization is the form of every human associated for the attainment of a
common purpose. Different authors have defined organization in different ways. The
main definition of organisaton are as follows:

According to Keith Davids, `Organization may be defined as a group

of individuals, large of small, that is cooperating under the direction of executive
leadership in accomplishing of certain common objectives’

According Chester I Barnard, `organization is a system of co-

operative activities of two or more persons.’

CHRIST UNIVERSITY 2

According to Louis A Allen, `Organization is the process of

identification and grouping the work to be performed, defining and delegation
responsibilities and authority, and establishing relationship for the purpose of enabling
people to work most effectively together in accomplishing objectives.’

INDUSTRY PROFILE

ORIGIN OF THE INDUSRY

Plastic is the common name of the polymers. Materials are made of long strings of carbon
and other elements. Each unit in the string is called as monomer and is a chemical usually
derived from oil. The monomer made into polymer by chain-linking reactions. This like
making a daisy chain. Instead of flowers, carbon atoms are joined together.

CHRIST UNIVERSITY 4
ORGANISATION STUDY SUJALA PIPES

The appearance of the daisy chain will be different you use different coloured flowers, and
so will polymers. There are many different types of plastics, depending on the stating
monomer selected, the length of the polymer chains, and the type of modifying compounds
added. Each plastic has been developed for a special purpose. PVC pipes poly vinyl chloride
have become synonymous, with modern living it is undoubtedly a product which has deeply
penetrated into common man’s life no wonder the industry have achieved remarkable
capabilities and manufacturing of machinery equipment sophistication. This versatile
materials with superior qualities such as light weight, easy processing corrosion resistance,
energy conservation etc. many substitute to a large estimate of many conventional and
costly industrial materials like wood, glass, metal and leather, etc. in the future the main
fold applications of plastics 9 in the field of automobiles, electronics, electrical, packaging
and agriculture gives it immense utility in PVC plastics.

At present as percent of total requirement of raw materials and most all types of
plastic machines required for the industry are not adequate available. The present
investment in all the three segments of industry namely production of raw materials,
expansion and diversification of raw materials.

On account of their inherent advantages in properties and versatile in adoption and

use, plastic have come to play vital of applications the world over. In our country plastic are
used in making essential consumer goods which are daily use for common man. Such as
baskets, carry bags, bottles, pipes, pens, etc. they also have application in agriculture,
building, construction, water management resource, engineering and electronic.

MAJOR PLAYERS OF THE INDUSTRY:

CHALLENGES OF THE INDUSTRY

In spite of some recent economic headwinds, India’s plastics industry believes it’s on track
to more than double its polymer consumption by 2020, to 20 million metric tons. At a
gathering of more than 30 Indian plastics trade associations on the side lines of the Plastic
vision trade show in Mumbai in December, industry leaders pushed the case that slipped.

India’s economy has slowed the last two years, with GDP growth of 3.2 percent in 2012 and
4.4 percent last year, down from 9-10 percent in several of the previous years. But it’s
projected to quicken to 5.4 percent this year and 6.4 percent in 2.15, according to the
International Monetary Fund.

Some of the long –term drivers mentioned include rural income that’s expected
to triple by 2020, to a total of $1.8 trillion, and annual car production projected to grow
from 1.7 million vehicles last year to 9.3 million by 2020.in addition, the Indian government
plans to spend $1 trillion dollars on infrastructure by2020, the market for electronics goods
will grow by 700 percent and country’s manufacturing sector will likely jump from the
world’s 12th largest .now to number seven by 2025, said Nanavaty, who is also vice
president of the Chemicals and Petrochemicals Manufacturers Association of India.

India’s plastics sector has been hit by the country’s general economic troubles in
the last two years, including the weakening rupee. Nanavaty noted that India’s industry still
suffers competitively because it’s much smaller than China’s plastics sectors. China has
three to 20 times more production of most types of polymers than India, even though their
populations are relatively equal.

CHAPTER-3

RESEARCH DESIGN AND LITERATURE

TITLE OF THE STUDY:

The organisation study in SUJALA PIPES with reference to the Finance, Marketing, Human
resource, production departments.

OBJECTIVES OF STUDY

The following are the objectives of study.

 To study the organizational structure and organization hierarchy of the company.

 To study various departments of the company.

CHRIST UNIVERSITY 16
ORGANISATION STUDY SUJALA PIPES

 To find problems of each department of company.

 To interpret the financial positions of the company through financial statement
analysis.

SCOPE OF STUDY

It aims at understanding the company’s establishment, organization structure,

departments, production techniques, marketing strategies and the advantages it is having
over the competitors. An attempt is made to analyse the company’s performance in
comparison to the theoretical aspects.

It aims to understand the skill of the company in the area like technological advancement,
competition in management.

Scope defines the parameter in which study will be operating in this can be an object or a
theory process, activity, describing either future, current of past knowledge or statements
of descriptive activity and an experience etc.,

 The organization study will help to attain a first-hand experience of overall

functioning of the organization.
 It provides a chance to interact with the authority and employees in organization.
 It helps to understand the practical problems faced by the manager for decision
making and other organizational activities.

NEED OF THE STUDY:

The Curriculum and Evaluation Standards (1989) indicate that although computation
is important in mathematics and in daily life, our technological age requires that we
rethink how computation is done today. Despite the obvious advantage that hand-
held calculators hold over other forms of calculation (Hope 1986) many situations

CHRIST UNIVERSITY 17
ORGANISATION STUDY SUJALA PIPES

exist in which either exact or approximate mental calculation is the preferred form
of calculation.
Important benefits of the development of mental computation in school have also
been pointed out by reports in mathematics education such as the Mathematical
Sciences Education Board, 1990; the Conference Board of Mathematical Sciences,
1989 and the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics, 1991.

Traditionally in schools, proficiency in pencil and paper algorithms is equated to

success in mathematics; however, research has shown that students who normally
perform poorly with pencil and paper are sometimes capable of impressive feats of
mental calculation (Ginsberg, 1989).

The Hope and Sherill (1987) study of skilled and unskilled mental calculators with
secondary school students suggests that whole number sense, exhibited by the
flexible use of the structure of the whole number system, is highly related to skill in
mental computation. The study found that skilled calculators had a variety of
strategies at their disposal that allowed them to avoid the high memory
requirements of pencil and paper algorithms used by their unskilled peers.

Researchers like Markovits and Sowder (1994), Baroody (1987) and Silver, Kilpatrick
and Schlesinger (1990) point out that if students are encouraged to explore numbers
and number relations through discussions of their own invented strategies and those
of their peers, their intuitive understanding of numbers and number relations would
be used and strengthened. These discussions can also lead to the discovery of
important relationships. Markovits and Sowder (1994) have classified students'
strategies in the following manner:

DATA COLLECTION METHOD

PRIMARY DATA:

CHRIST UNIVERSITY 18
ORGANISATION STUDY SUJALA PIPES

The primary data was collected by observing the various departments of the Nandi

SECONDARY DATA:

The secondary data related to the company pooled from the various sources such as

 Company manual

 Internet

 Management books

 Web site

IMPORTANCE OF ORGANISATIONAL STUDY

Organization functioning is an important factor for any organization to achieve the desired
goals and objectives. This requires coordination at all levels to smooth functioning
Importance of organization in order to understand the organization structure and their
functions.

The main purpose of doing organizational study was to study the various
departments of the organization and understand their basic functions, their purpose,
achievements , competitors and the mission and vision of the company and their progress
towards that. All general information we get in course is all book knowledge, on which
westerly cannot depend. It is very important to observe the actual working of the
organization and the overall structure of the organization. The actual professionalization can
be studied only through experience.

An organization is required to fulfil certain goals and some of which include the following:

1) AN organization embodies the objectives of the enterprises.

CHRIST UNIVERSITY 19
ORGANISATION STUDY SUJALA PIPES

2) The manager is aware of his rights and responsibilities of coordination with other
levels.
3) To know how various departments in an organization and coordinate the other
departments and to the external environment.

LIMITATIONS TO STUDY

 The project was bound for a short period, thus time is a limited factor.
 Certain areas restricted, so a detailed study was not possible.
 The information provided by the people in the organization may not be completed.
 Certain confidential information regarding study was not available and the analysis
and interpretation are subjected to limitations.

LITERATURE REVIEW

A Literature Review is a text of a scholarly paper, which includes the current knowledge
including substantive findings, as well as theoretical and methodological contribution to a
particular topic. Literature review are secondary sources and not to be confused and do not
report new or original experimental work. Most often associated with academic-oriented
literature, such reviews are found appear in the same publication. Literature reviews are a
basis research in nearly every academic field. A narrow scope literature review may be a
part included as part of a peer-reviewed journal article presentation new research, serving
to situate the current study within the body of the relevant literature and to prove context
for the reader. In such a case, the review usually precedes the methodology and results
sections of the work.

Producing a literature review may be also part of graduate and post-graduate students work
including in the preparation of a thesis, dissertation of a journal article. Literature reviews
are also common in a research proposal or prospectus approved before a student formally
begins a dissertation or thesis.

RESEARCH DESIGN

MEANING AND DEFINITION OF RESEARCH:

Research = Re + search. That is search after

search and search. Why? The purpose of such repeated search is to thoroughly understand
the problem or issue or phenomenon and find the apt and effective solution to the problem
or strategy to deal with the issue or the phenomenon. Such solution or strategy adds to our
stocks of knowledge in dealing with the problem or the issue.

In common parlance, research refers to a search

for knowledge. Research simply put, is an endeavour to discover answers to problems
(intellectual & practical) through the application of scientific method. The Webster’s
international dictionary gives a very inclusive definition of research as critical enquiry or
examination in seeking facts or principles, diligent investigation in order to ascertain
something. The 20th century chamber dictionary defines research has: a careful search or
systematic investigation towards increasing the sum of knowledge.

Research is essentially a systematic inquiry seeking facts

through objectives, verifiable methods in order discover the relationship among them and
to deduce from the broad principles or laws. Research is really a method of critical thinking
it comprises defining and redefining problems, formulating hypothesis or suggested
solutions, collecting, organizing and evaluating data, making deductions and making
conclusions and at last, carefully testing the conclusion to determine whether they fit the
formulated hypothesis. Thus the term research refers to a critical, careful and exhaustive
investigation or inquiry or experimentation or examination having has its same to aim
revision of accepted, conclusions in the light of newly discover facts .

Research is the power of suspended judgement, with

patience, of mediating with pleasure of assessing with causing, of correcting with readiness
and of arranging thought with scrupulous pain, According to FRANCIS BACON.

Francis G, cornell defines research as activity of collecting

information orderly and systematic fashion”.

CHRIST UNIVERSITY 21
ORGANISATION STUDY SUJALA PIPES

D. SLESINGER and D.STEPHNSPN in the encyclopaedia of

social sciences define research as the manipulation of things, concepts or symbols for the
purpose of generalizing to extend, correct or verify knowledge, whether that knowledge
aids in the construction of theory or in the practise of an art.

John W. Best defines research,” as the systematic and objective

analysis and recording of controlled observations that may lead to developments of
generalisation, principles or theories,, resulting in prediction and possibly ultimate control
of events,.

Definitions of this sort are rather abstract. So a summary of

some of the characteristics of research may help to clarify the spirit, meaning, and
methodology of research. The summary of characteristics futures of research process

TYPES OF RESEARCH DESIGN:

Ø Research is directed toward the solution of the problem

Ø Research is highly purposive
Ø Research involves the quest for answers to unsolved problems
Ø Research is characterized by patient and unhurried activity
Ø Research is logical and objective
Ø Research is carefully recorded and reported
Ø Research emphasize the development of generalization of principles or theories that
will help in predicting future occurrences.
Ø Research is based upon observable experience or empirical evidence
Ø Research generally involves the hypothesis or set of hypothesis or concerning of
explanation of the phenomenon
Ø Research demands accurate observation and description
Ø Research involves gathering new data from primary or firsthand sources or using
existing data for a new purpose

CHRIST UNIVERSITY 22
ORGANISATION STUDY SUJALA PIPES

Ø Research activities are more often characterized and carefully designed procedures, all
ways applying rigorous analysis.
Ø Researcher are not only scholarly and imaginative, but also have highest integrity and
patience

Research is thus the process of a systematic and in depth study or search

of particular topic subject or area of investigation involve in collection compilation
presentation and interpretation of relevant details or data. It is a careful search or inquiry
into an ill subject matter which is an endeavour to discover to find out valuable facts which
would be useful for solving problems are improving existing solutions to problems. The
search that involve scientific analysis would result in the formulation of new theories, the
discovery of new techniques, modification, of old concepts or a knocking off an existing
theory, concept or technique.

MEANING OF RESEARCH DESIGN:

A research design is utilized to structure the research, to

indicate that all the major elements of the research has been designed to work together.
There are numerous types, design that one may decide to use.

Ø It is a plan which describes the sources and times of information strongly related to the
research problem.
Ø It is a strategy indicating which method will be employed for collecting and examining
the data
Ø It also consist of the time and cost budget because studies are done under these two
limitations

APPLIEED FOR DISCIPLINE

The study or description of methods

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
It is the systematic, theoretical analysis of the methods applied to a field of study. It
comprises the theoretical analysis of the body of methods and principles associated with a

CHRIST UNIVERSITY 23
ORGANISATION STUDY SUJALA PIPES

branch of knowledge. Typically, it encompasses concepts such as para, theoretical model,

phases and quantitative or qualitative techniques.

A methodology does not set out to provide solutions - it is, therefore, not the same as a
method. Instead, a methodology offers the theoretical underpinning for understanding
which method, set of methods, or practices can be applied to specific case, for example, to
calculate a specific result.

It has been defined also as follows:

1. The analysis of the principles of methods, rules, and postulates employed by a

discipline.
2. The systematic study of methods that are, can be, or have been
3. Methodology” implies more than simply the methods you intend to use to collect
data. It is often necessary to include a consideration of the concepts and theories
which underlie the methods. For instance, if you intend to highlight a specific feature
of a sociological theory or test an algorithm for some aspect of information retrieval,
or test the validity of a particular system, you have to show that you understand the
underlying concepts of the methodology.
4. When you describe your methods it is necessary to state how you have addressed
the research questions and/or hypotheses. The methods should be described in
enough detail for the study to be replicated, or at least repeated in a similar way in
another situation. Every stage should be explained and justified with clear reasons
for the choice of your particular methods and materials.
5. There are many different ways to approach the research that fulfils the requirements
of a dissertation. These may vary both within and between disciplines. It is important
to consider the expectations and possibilities concerning research in your own field.
You can do this by talking to your tutors and looking at dissertations written by
former students on your course.

CHRIST UNIVERSITY 24
ORGANISATION STUDY SUJALA PIPES

Submitting your final Methodology is the process used to gather and analyse data needed to
answer the research questions guiding a study. Strive for clarity and accuracy when
describing each step of the methods you used when conducting your research and explain
why you chose certain methods over others. A detailed methodology is critical to other
researchers who may wish to replicate your work or expand upon it. Ensure you write the
methodology section in past tense when paper.

FUNCTIONAL DEPARTMENTS

FINANCE DEPARTMENT

Finance is a specialized, functional field under the general classification of business

administration. The term "Finance" can be defined as the management of the flows of
money through as organization whether it is corporation, bank, Govt., agency; etc. Finance
concerns itself with the actual flows of money, as well as any claims against money. As a
business discipline, finance can be differentiated from accounting and economics.
Accounting is concerned with the recording, reporting and measuring of business
transaction, whereas finance uses the information provided by the accounting system to
make decision to help organizations to achieve their objectives. Economies are concerned
with analysing the allocation of resources in a society. It studies transactions, among people
involving in a society. It studies transaction, among people involving goods and services with

or without the exchange of money. Individual businesses are face problems dealing with the
acquisition of funds to carry on their activities and with the determination of optimum
methods of employing funds. In competitive market place, businessman must actively
manage their funds to achieve their goals. The financial tools help the management.

Determine which sources offer the lowest cost of funds and which activities will provide the
greatest return on invested capital. A successful business manager for enterprise uses a goal
oriented financial structure. The financial manager performs certain tasks that help to
achieve its operating objective. The important goals of financial management are:

• Wealth maximization of shareholders.

• Liquidity.

• Profitability of the firm.

FUNCTIONS OF FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT

Although it may be difficult to separate the finance functions from production, marketing
and other functions. Yet the functions themselves can be readily identified. The functions of
raising funds, investing in assets and distributing returns earned from assets, shareholders
respectively known as financing, investment and dividend decision. While performing these
functions. A firm attempts to balance cash inflows and cash outflows. This is called liquidity
decision and we add it to the list of important finance decisions or functions.

• Investment or long-term asset as decision.

• Financing or capital mix decision

• Dividend or profit allocation decision.

• Liquidity or short term asset mix decision.

CHRIST UNIVERSITY 28
ORGANISATION STUDY SUJALA PIPES

A firm performs finance functions simultaneously and continuously in normal course of the
business. They do not necessarily occur in a sequence. Finance function call for skillful
planning, control and exception of a firm's activities. Let us note, that outset that
shareholders are made better off by a finance decision, which increase value of their shares.
Thus while performing the finance functions, the financial manager should strive to
maximize the market value of shares. Though initially the company external sources of
financial aid, now the financial status of the company is very sound and is being run only
with self-financial excepting for loans taken on hypothecation of machinery and stock from
SBI, Nandyal. The financial manager with the help of accounts and other clerks of the
department head the financial department. The company follows cash & carries policy for
Nandi brand. The products are not delivered until the cash is paid and financial department
with the help of marketing department looks after these transactions. Finance is the study
of funds management. The general areas of finance are business finance, personal finance
(private finance), and public finance.1-21 Finance includes saving money and often includes
lending money. The field of finance deals with the concepts of time, money, risk and how
they are interrelated. It also deals with how money is spent and budgeted. One facet of
finance is through individuals and business organizations, which deposit money in a bank.
The bank then lends the money out to other individuals or corporations for Loans have
become increasingly packaged for resale, meaning that an investor buys the loan (debt)
from a bank or directly from a corporation. Bonds are debt instruments sold to investors for
organizations such as companies, governments or charities. The investor can then hold the
debt and collect the interest or sell the debt on a secondary market. Banks are the main
facilitators of funding through the provision of credit, although private equity, mutual funds,
hedge funds, and other organizations have become important as they invest in various
forms of debt is are financially managed with careful attention to Financial assets, known as
investments are financial risk management to control financial risk. Financial instruments
allow many forms of securitized assets to be traded on securities exchanges such as stock
exchanges, including debt such as bonds as well as equity in publicly traded corporations.

Central banks such as Federal Reserve System banks in United States and banks of England
in the United Kingdom, are strong players in public finance, acting as ledgers of last resort as
well as strong influence on monetary and credit conditions in the economy.

FINANCIAL PROBLEM IDENTIFICATION:

Many small and medium sized business don’t have adequate financial reporting. This is
usually the result of lack of proper supervision of the accounting department, a lack of
discipline or unqualified personnel. CEO’S are spending as much time as possible generating
sales and allowing the accounting and administrative Functions to lag behind because of the
lack of resource. Chief Financial Outsourcing will put the control in place and provide
accurate timely financial reporting. This will enable the CEO to confidence in the decision
process to continue to grow or determine unprofitable areas of his business. We do this on
a consistent and timely basis. Closing schedules are held to and internal control procedures
are managed and enforced.

 Adequate documents and -records provide evidence that financial statements are
accurate. Controls designed to ensure adequate recordkeeping include the creation
of invoices and other documents that are easy to use and sufficiently informative;
the use of pre-numbered, consecutive documents; and the timely preparation of
documents.
 Independent checks on performance, which are carried out by employees who did
not do the work being checked, help ensure the reliability of accounting information
and the efficiency of operations. For example, a supervisor verifies the accuracy of a
retail clerk's cash drawer at the end of the day. Internal auditors may also verity that
the supervisor performed the check of the cash drawer.
 Accounting workflows a procedure that dictates how information or documents will
flow through a company business operations. This procedure mas not be as
important for business owners completing all accounting functions. Larger business
organizations use accounting procedures to ensure employees handle all financial

HUMAN RESOURCE DEPARTMENT

Fundamentally human resource management is based on the assumption that

employees are individuals with varying goals and needs. Human resources should
not be categorized with basic business resources (trucks, filing cabinets, etc.).
Practicing good human resource management (IIRM) enables managers of an
enterprise to express their goals with specificity. Increasing worker comprehension
of goals, and provide the necessary resources to promote successfully
accomplishment of said goals. When HRM is properly employed members of the
workforce are expressive of the goals and operating practices of the firm.
HRM is seen by practitioners in the field as a more innovative view of
workplace management than the traditional approach. Its techniques force the
managers of an enterprise to express their goals with specificity so that they can be
understood and undertaken by the workforce, and to provide the resources needed
for them to successfully accomplish their assignments. As such, HRM techniques,
when properly practiced, are expressive of the goals and operating practices of the
enterprise overall. HRM is also seen by many to have a key role in risk reduction
within organizations.
MAN POWER PLANNING: It involves the planning for the future and finding out
how many employees will be needed in the future by the business and what types
of skills should they possess.
It depends on the following factors
• The number of people leaving the job
• The projected growth in sales of the business
• Technological changes
• Productivity level of the workers

DETERMINING WAGES AND SALARIES:

HR Department is also involved in conducting market surveys and determining the wages
and salaries for different position in an organization. These decision may be taken in
consultation with top management and the Finance department.

RECRUITMENT AND SELECTION:

One of the most important jobs HR department is to recruit the best people for the
organization. This is of crucial importance as the success of any organization depend on the
quality of its workforce. The company offers UP internal job posting which plays a crucial
role in achieving the company's philosophy by intake of right candidate to right job. The
company also hires experienced candidates. They also contact consultants when workers
are required.

PERFORMANCE APPRAISAL:

Once the employees are recruited, the HR Department has to review their performance on a
regular basis through proper performance appraisals. Performance appraisal is the process
of obtaining, analyzing and recording information about the relative worth of an employee.
The focus of the performance appraisal is measuring and improving the actual performance
of the employee and also the future potential of the employee. Its aim is to measure what
an employee does. On the basis of performance appraisal the HR Department will set up an

IDENTIFICATION OF PROBLEMS:

• Lack of technical talent has made it difficult to fill specialized positions. Even during
periods of high unemployment, technical and technology-driven company finds a shortage
of employees with the training and competencies to perform in niche jobs this has caused
HR departments to collaborate with local colleges in the development or courses and
training programs to help them fill needed roles.

• Responsibility for payroll Falls between the remits of the accounts and VIR departments,
often leaching to problems with accurate payments to staff. FIR maintains records about
salary, benefits, bonuses and attachments of earnings, whilst accounts are tasked with
actually making the payments. This creates a potential disconnect that can lead to the
payroll being run late or employees receiving the wrong sums in their wage packet.

• To maintain morale and prevent future pay problems, your business should investigate the
potential of using a dedicated payroll solution that interfaces directly with your FIR software
and account system. By uniting both departments electronically, most of the manual
headaches associated with pay can be resolved automatically.

• Dedicated payroll software helps ensure staff get paid what they are entitled to when they
expect it. Your HR department will also benefit from a reduction in queries, helping to better
spread the workload throughout the rest of the month.

• The sector primarily serves domestic markets and is largely protected from global
competitors due to the high freight-to-value cost of the heavy.

PRODUCTION DEPARTMENT

1. The production and planning department will set standards and targets for each
section of the production process. The quantity and quality of products coining off a
production line will be closely monitored. In businesses focusing on lean production,
quality will be monitored by all employees at every stage of production, rather than
at the end as is the case for businesses using a quality control approach
2. The purchasing department will be responsible for providing the materials,
components and equipment required to keep the production process running
smoothly. A vital aspect of this role is ensuring.

3. The stores department will be responsible for stocking all the necessary tools,
spares, raw materials and equipment required to service the manufacturing process.
Where sourcing is unreliable, buffer stocks will need to be kept and the use of
computerized stock control systems helps keep stocks at a minimal but necessary
level for production to continue unhindered.

4. To design and technical support department will be responsible for researching new

5. The works department will be concerned with the manufacture of products. This will
include the maintenance of the production line and other necessary products.
Infrastructure and construction activities- are the key drivers of NANDI PIPES
demand.

 The sector is highly consolidated with relatively few, large companies who are
investing in current technology and 'best practice' manufacturing strategies. This
sector traditionally relies on non-renewable raw materials, such as limestone, clay,
iron ore and sand. Significant amounts of coal are used in the claiming kilns to make
clinker, which is the major component in plastic.
 Electricity is needed to run the machinery for grinding and blending in order to make
the clinker and then to process it with other materials into plastic. The sector has
high fuel use and heavy transport in the supply chain and to distribute the products.
These activities jointly generate large amounts of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions,
and so create significant exposure to the Carbon Price.
 The sector is increasingly using alternative additives in the 'recipes' for clinker and
plastic; some of these are wastes from other industries. Reducing the amount of
clinker in the plastic helps to reduce the energy consumption and Carbon Price
liability because less clinker needs to be made.

CONCLUSION

NANDI PIPES

The study concludes that Nandi Pipes are upcoming brand and customers are satisfied with
quality of the Pipe, discount rates and delivery. But the respondents are not much satisfied
with their sales of service. A supplier should always keep on improving so as to achieve a
greater profitability. This can be achieved by knowing the market well, i.e. understanding
exactly what the customer wants. By discovering what the customer wants, the supplier can
being to understanding how his products and services provide value for his customers. A
simple tool is to take customer satisfaction surveys and analyze the customer feedback. This
gives the supplier an insight on where he lacks in delivering his products or services and
where is the scope of improvement. During my internship at Nandi I gave a lot of
importance to the functions and specialties of' each department. All the officials in each
department coordinated with me very well. The company under study Nandi pipes, being a
