Competition Guidelines

1. The Competition is open to all amateur mixed choirs in the Philippines.

2. The choir should not join any National or International competition such as MBC
National Choral Competition, NAMCYA ATBP.
3. Each group must be composed of male and female members from 12 years old and
above, with at least 15-35 singers including one (1) conductor and one (1)
accompanist.
4. Each group will perform three (3) choral pieces.
-1 Novelty or pop of your choice (A capella)
-1 Sacred Music in any language (A capella)
-1 Contest piece (to be given by the organizer during the registration)
5. Each group will be given a maximum of 15 minutes performance time excluding the
entrance and exit. A deduction of two (2) points will incur in excess of every minute
or fraction of a minute to the total score.
6. One non-pitched accompaniment/instrument shall be allowed and it should be
indicated in the music score.
7. Only the conductor and accompanist are allowed to use music sheets.
8. Costumes, choreographies, and props are allowed.
9. Conductors are allowed only to conduct one choir in this competition.

CRITERIA FOR JUDGING and allocation of points are as follows:

A. Technicality (40%) 40 %
-Intonation, Rhythm, Diction, Dynamics, and Balance
B. Musicality (40%) 40 %
-Fidelity to the piece, Phrasing, and Interpretation;
C. Overall Impression (20%) 20 %
-Costume, Choreography, Expression, and Artistic
Impression.
TOTAL: 100 %
ADUJIDICATION
1. A set of adjudicator will be chose by the organizing committee.

2. The judge’s decision shall be based on the result of the competition and shall be final
and irrevocable.

3. Each group shall submit their entry form, short biography of the choir along with the
recent picture of the choir, profile/vitae and video file to register not later than
March 28, 2019.

4. The participating choirs will be given 30 tickets to sell. Tickets are available the time
you register. Tickets when released will be automatically sold out. P1EREBY, 000.00
from the ticket sale will go to the participating choir.
(Note: Proceeds of the tickets will go to the renovation of Holy Cross Parish of Noveleta, Cavite)

5. Only fifteen (15) choirs who will pass the screening through video evaluation will
qualify to the competition on May 1, 2019.

6. Announcement of Qualifiers will be on March 30, 2019

7. PRIZES
• First Prize plus trophy – Php 15,000
• Second Prize plus trophy – Php 10,000
• Third Prize plus trophy – Php 5,000
• Best Conductor
• Best in choreography
• Best interpretation of the Contest Piece
• All participants will receive a Certificate of Participation.

(Note: Food and Drinks will be shouldered by your Choirs)

MEETING OF QUALIFIERS AND DISTIBUTION OF CONTEST PIECE WILL BE ON

MARCH 31, 2019 2:00pm at Holy Cross Parish Noveleta, Cavite.
Failure to attend the orientation meeting will be disqualified from the
competition.
