Biology 62U, Fall 2019 Endemic to the western slopes of California’s Sierra Nevada stands an ancient race of arguably earth’s largest living organisms. Join us as we explore the Giant Sequoias or Big Trees (Sequoiadendron giganteum): their geologic history, anatomy, physiology, ecology, exploitation and conservation in Yosemite and Sequoia-Kings Canyon National Parks and in Calaveras Big Trees State Park.
