 To comply with the requirement by the Director General of
Higher Education, Ministry of Education, since July 2012 ITB
applied the requirement for a university graduate to publish a
journal article based on his/her final project
 SBM ITB has prepared an online journal to accommodate the
publications – Indonesian Journal of Business
Administration (IJBA) as the main outlet for MBA ITB.
However, students may submit to other journals as well.
 Cum laude candidates have to submit an article to either
one of these publication outlets:
 a DIKTI accredited journals (http://www.sbm.itb.ac.id/daftar-
berkala-ilmiah-terakreditasi-dikti-di-bidang-ekonomi.html OR
 a SCOPUS indexed journals (see the list in :
http://www.scimagojr.com/) , OR
 a conference proceeding.
 Good opportunity to have your works known and
disseminated to wider academic community and industry
 Leave your legacy to the MBA program as your article could
be referred by other students when conducting their final
projects
 Increasing your publication profile, especially for those who
want to study further (e.g. taking doctorate degree).
 Contributing to the publication of ITB and your
company/institution
 Cost:
 Few days up to 1-2 week extra work by students
 Extra works by counsellor, reviewers and academic services

unit and business issue faced

▪ Develop conceptual framework that may assist them to find root of issues
▪ The framework often contains internal condition of the company, industrial
situation, competitive condition, customer profile and attitude, supplier, and
marketing line and such other several factors in macro level such as
infrastructure, economic condition, regulation and politic.
 Analysis of Business Situation
▪ Analyze every factor contained in conceptual framework to conceive business
situation of relevant company/industry.
▪ Identifying the main cause(s) arising from such business issue based on the
analysis

 Alternative of Business Solution
▪ Arising several alternatives to be then analyzed in determining optimal
solution for the company
 Analysis of Business Solution
▪ Analyze the solution alternatives one by one OR directly focus on one
business solution then analyze its possibility to be the solution for the
issues faced by the company.

 Final project counsellor/supervisor reviews the draft
 The article is submitted together with the draft of final
project for defence
 Final project reviewers review the article and provide
feedback on the day of final defence
 Student revise the article based on the feedback and request
for approval from the final project supervisor (using approval
from)
 Student submit the final article (in .doc file) and the approval
form to Academic Services
 Academic Services then request acceptance letter from the
Publisher of IJBA (Research and Knowledge Unit of SBM)
 A copy for the Yudisium Meeting
 A copy for the Student
The article shall be available to public so
students need to ensure that no confidential
information is put in the article.
Options:
 Disguise the name of the company or persons in the
article
 Do not put detailed facts or sensitive info in the article
– brief or summary of the info only
 Only take some parts of the final project that contains
no confidential information. But need to ensure its
coherence and completeness as an article.
