Standard: Recognize and draw shapes having specified attributes, such as a given number of
angles or a given number of equal faces.1 Identify triangles, quadrilaterals, pentagons,
hexagons, and cubes.
Objective: Student will be able to accurately recognize and draw shapes such as triangles,
quadrilaterals, pentagons, hexagons and cubes 4 out of 5 times during camp during the lesson.
Assessment plan: Invite students to draw a triangle, quadrilateral, pentagon, hexagon and a
cube one shape at a time and write one thing they learned about each shape on the poster paper
next to the shape itself. Make sure all the students are given different shapes in random order.
So, no two students will draw the same shape at the same time. Students will circle a smiley,
confused, or a frown face at the end of the day.
Differentiation/Accommodations:
Support: Move the disruptive students to another table with one teacher so they will not be
distracting to the other students who are working.
