The 9th house is typically associated with fortune. A select few attribute it to one's
elders and even fewer examine one's education and specialization therein. But the
least see it for protection!
But these Kendra grow not from feeding themselves, but from the world around them
with which they need to interact. The houses outside are the remaining 8 houses,
which in essence form some trine to either among the 4 mentioned Kendra houses.
Those in trine to the 1st house cause the blessed Srngatika yoga, a blessing of
knowledge and wealth whereas the remaining cause Hala yoga, which is not well
looked upon and benefits not the person in this life but maybe in the afterlife.
In essence, the 5th and 9th from the ascendant/1st house are the means for us to
grow and interact with the wealth of knowledge, food and resources around us, and
are considered the blessings of Lakshmi... the kendra being that of Vishnu.
Now, if the 5th or 9th is broken, a major flaw arises ruining one's purity (5th house) or
one's protection (9th), and can severely hamper ones future aspirations. When
especially the 9th is hampered the person is highly subsceptible to illness and
diseases and we need to repair this with remedies.
Our purity is repaired with Vishnu mantras, and so also the 5th lord is repaired by
this.
Our protection is repaired by Shiva mantras and so also the 9th house is repaired by
this.
Should the 9th lord be placed in the 6th, 8th or 12th house the protection is
unavailable or broken. Knowing this, 3 popular Shiva mantras arise to repair the shield
or protection.
Depending on the house placement of the 9th lord, we can form 12 different Shiva
mantras, one for each house placement.
Remember, the best time to worship Śiva is from a Monday or Thursday when the Sun
is not in the sky.
