D. SWOT Analysis

SWOT Analysis is a useful technique and helps to carve a sustainable

niche in market. The SWOT Analysis process involves four areas which is
Strength, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threat. Strengths and weaknesses
are often internal to our organization, while opportunities and threats generally
relate to external factors. For this reason, SWOT is sometimes called Internal-
External Analysis and the SWOT Matrix is sometimes called an IE Matrix.
Successful businesses build on their strengths, correct their weakness
and protect against internal weaknesses and external threats. They also keep
a watch on their overall business environment and recognize and exploit new
opportunities faster than its competitors. It is a source of information for
strategic planning.
Strengths are the qualities that enable us to accomplish the
organization’s mission. These are the basis on which continued success can
be made and continued/sustained. Strengths can be either tangible or
intangible. Strengths are the beneficial aspects of the organization or the
capabilities of an organization, which includes human competencies, process
capabilities, financial resources, products and services, customer goodwill
and brand loyalty.
Weaknesses are the qualities that prevent us from accomplishing our
mission and achieving our full potential. These weaknesses deteriorate
influences on the organizational success and growth. Weaknesses are the
factors which do not meet the standards we feel they should meet.
Weaknesses in an organization may be depreciating machinery, insufficient
research and development facilities, narrow product range and poor decision-
making. Weaknesses are controllable since they can minimized and
eliminated.
Opportunities are presented by the environment within which our
organization operates. These arise when an organization can take benefit of
conditions in its environment to plan and execute strategies that enable it to
become more profitable. Organizations can gain competitive advantage by
making-use of opportunities. Organization should be careful and recognize
the opportunities and grasp them whenever they arise. Selecting the targets
that will best serve the clients while getting desired results is a difficult task.
Opportunities may arise from market, competition, industry/government and
technology. Increasing demand for telecommunications accompanied by
deregulation is a great opportunity for new firms to enter telecom sector and
compete with existing firms for revenue.
Threats arise when conditions in external environment jeopardize the
reliability and profitability of the organization’s business. They compound the
vulnerability when they relate to the weaknesses. Threats are uncontrollable
because when a threat comes, the stability and survival can be at stake.
Examples of threats are unrest among employees; ever changing technology;
increasing competition leading to excess capacity, price wars and reducing
industry profits.

Analyze strength, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of selected

social media.

In our organization, we consider that our product is the main strength

because we use a suitable fabric that suit our trendy world. From the material
clothes, we decide to choose cotton since it is a natural and because of the
way it is designed and manufactured into clothing. Cotton clothes has many
advantages, such as its ability to control moisture, insulate, provide comfort
and it is also hypoallergenic, weatherproof and is durable fabric. Nowadays
pastel color are trending because pale colors are by their nature, softer and
subtler than their saturated counterparts. This muted aesthetic has the
uncanny ability to appear beautiful in design as well as soothe. Hence, we
also offer birthday service which mean that we decorate the packaging special
just for the customer who celebrate their birthday. We can take this as a token
of appreciation for our loyal customer since we value our customer as the
motto goes by customer is number one.
This part can be weakness, threat and opportunities for our business
we only depend on one material which is cotton clothes. Cotton clothes might
be a comfortable clothing, but different people has different taste. Maybe other
customer prefer other material clothes.
Since our business only focus on man’s clothes. This can be a
weakness because majority of men don’t really like shopping for clothes since
they only focus on technology or gadgets.
But this also can turn into an opportunities so we have to depend on
the minority group of man and women to buy our product. We mention women
because women like shopping and they like to buy what they see on trending.
They also like to use their money on their spouse and family.

E. Social Media

Whatsapp
We can use Whatsapp as a medium to communicate with
customer and receive feedback. Besides Whatsapp is an easy app that
we only need to use our number phone to make an account. Whatsapp
can be categorized as a daily and recently used by most of human
population in this world. We can say that we used Whatsapp as a
replacement of basic message app.

Instagram
Instagram is an app that we use to gather followers and it is
created special for photos. Besides it is a place where we upload and
post photos as much as we want. Usually a good photo can reach to
100+ likes and followers and for the instafamous they can reach about
million followers. It is a good place to viral our product because
nowadays people always scroll for the hottest and trending issues in
their phones.

Facebook
Facebook is the first one that go trending and have international
user anywhere anytime. Facebook is a place where we can write
whatever appropriate in any way we want. We also can promoting our
product by writing our product description as long as we want.

F. Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA)

The PDPA establishes a data protection law that comprises various

rules governing the collection, use, disclosure and care of personal data. It
recognize both the rights of individuals to protect their personal data, including
rights of access and correction, and the needs of organizations to collect, use
or disclose personal data for legitimate and reasonable purposes.

The PDPA provides for the establishment of a national Do Not Call

(DNC) Registry. The DNC Registry allows individuals to register their
Singapore telephone numbers to opt out of receiving marketing phone calls,
mobile text messages such as SMS or MMS, and faxes from organizations.

Objectives of the Personal Data Protection Act:

Today, vast amounts of personal data are collected, used and even
transferred to third party organizations for a variety of reasons. This trend is
expected to grow exponentially as the processing and analysis of large
amounts of personal data becomes possible with increasingly sophisticated
technology.

With such a trend comes growing concerns from individuals about how
their personal data is being used. Hence, a data protection regime to govern
the collection, use and disclosure of personal data is necessary to address
these concerns and to maintain individuals’ trust in organizations that manage
data.

By regulating the flow of personal data among organizations, the PDPA

also aims to strengthen and entrench Singapore’s competitiveness and
position as a trusted, world- class hub for business.

G. Business ethics

Business ethics is the study of appropriate business policies and

practices regarding potentially controversial subjects including corporate
governance, insider trading, bribery, discrimination, corporate social
responsibility, and fiduciary responsibilities. The law often guides business
ethics, but at other times business ethics provide a basic guideline that
businesses can choose to follow to gain public approval.

Being honest
A solid ethics policy should clearly outline the procedure employees
should follow if they need to take time off, leave early or start late. If you don't
spell out these procedures, employees might be tempted to handle these
matters on their own. They might claim to be meeting a client at the end of the
workday when instead they are leaving early to catch a ballgame on TV. They
might claim to be at a workshop for the first half of the day when instead they
are sneaking in some extra sleep.

Make sure your ethics policy contains a provision telling your employees how
they can request time off even for personal matters. Open communication is a
far better alternative than the sneaking around required when employees try
to cloak the reasons for their late starts or absences.

Working with customers

Your ethics policy also should make it clear that your workers must
treat customers fairly and honestly. This means prohibiting employees from
lying to potential customer or providing them with misleading information.
Employees shouldn't hide the true price of a service, policy or product in an
effort to trick customers into purchasing. They also shouldn't promise more
than their service or product can deliver.

Employees should never bully or harass potential customers. Your

ethics policy should state how often your workers can contact potential
customers, at what times of the day and what exactly they can and cannot say
during their conversations. Help your employees learn proper responses to
negative scenarios with active role playing and training programs. Conduct
training regularly for best performance results.

Fairness

Ethical executives and fair and just in all dealings; they do not exercise
power arbitrarily, and do not use overreaching nor indecent means to gain or
maintain any advantage nor take undue advantage of another’s mistakes or
difficulties. Fair persons manifest a commitment to justice, the equal treatment
of individuals, tolerance for and acceptance of diversity, the they are open-
minded; they are willing to admit they are wrong and, where appropriate,
change their positions and beliefs.

Loyalty

Ethical executives are worthy of trust, demonstrate fidelity and loyalty

to persons and institutions by friendship in adversity, support and devotion to
duty; they do not use or disclose information learned in confidence for
personal advantage. They safeguard the ability to make independent
professional judgments by scrupulously avoiding undue influences and
conflicts of interest. They are loyal to their companies and colleagues and if
they decide to accept other employment, they provide reasonable notice,
respect the proprietary information of their former employer, and refuse to
engage in any activities that take undue advantage of their previous positions.

H. Summary & Attachment

In conclusion, a business proposal is a beginning of business for a

person or partner preparing or planning to open a business directly or online.
In addition, the marketing techniques of analytical business planning and
others need to be applied in the business. For the initial steps of business,
one needs to analyze SWOT with existing companies.
Next, it is important to plan the company's finances as it is necessary to
evaluate the money in and out of money to ensure that there are no significant
losses. The notice of Personal Data Protection Act has to be followed and all
employee or staff in the company need to apply business ethics into their daily
basis.
