Factory Bank
Restore Guide

This short guide will instruct the user on how to restore the factory banks that come shipped with the DeepMind Family of
synthesizers on both Windows and OSX platforms.

The banks have been supplied in both a combined file (Factory Banks Combined.syx) and as individual banks
(Factory Bank A.syx, Factory Bank B.syx, etc) so the user can choose to restore one, some or all of the factory banks that
ship with the DeepMind Family of synths.

Note: Please ensure that any existing user programs are backed up before restoring the factory banks to the DeepMind synth.
Restoring the factory programs will overwrite any existing programs in the bank(s) that are restored.

There are 3rd party tools available for both operating systems that handle the sending and receiving of SysEx messages,
for the purpose of this document the following tools will be used as examples :

Windows OS: MIDI-OX which can be downloaded here.


OSX Platforms: SysEx Librarian which can be downloaded here.

For Windows operating Systems (MIDIOX)


• Connect the DeepMind synth to the computer using a USB cable or MIDI interface.
• Open MIDIOX and select MIDI devices from the Options drop down menu.
• Select the DeepMind as the Input and Output device
(Select the appropriate MIDI interface from the menu instead if using one).
• Select ‘View > then SysEx…’ from the MIDIOX title bar.
• A new window will appear at this point, select ‘File > Send SysEx File’ from the title bar.
• Browse for and select the bank that the user wishes to upload.
• Once selected, the factory bank upload should begin, the DeepMind will show a ‘Receiving SysEx’ pop up message as
the bank is uploaded.

For OSX Platforms (SysEx Librarian)


• Connect the DeepMind to the computer using a USB cable or MIDI interface.
• Open SysEx Librarian and select the DeepMind as the target from the drop down menu at the top of the window
(Select the appropriate MIDI interface from the menu if using one).
• Browse to the location of the Factory Banks, then drag and drop the required file into the main window of SysEx Librarian.
A confirmation pop over will appear at this point, click OK to continue.
• Click on the Play button to send the file.
• Once selected, the factory bank upload should begin, the DeepMind will show a ‘Receiving SysEx’ pop up message as
the bank is uploaded.
