I. In the Introduction

The authors gave a very good introduction about the topic by giving a general

presentation of the research problem and by lay-outing exactly what they are trying

to achieve in the research project. The introduction gave an overall review of the

study. The words used were simple and clear and the construction of the

introduction was so organized making it very comprehensive to the readers. The

authors made also a good point in writing the introduction by including a brief

literature review about the topic. The background information of the study is well-

defined and with reference to the existing literature.

Their purpose of stating the research questions at the end of the introduction is great

for it was stated concisely and closely focused. However, when establishing a
research question in the introductory part, there is also a need to indicate the

hypothesis, in which the authors failed to present.

II. In the Methodology

The methods used to gather the data for this research were clearly explained and

justified. The methods used made sense in answering the research questions. The

used of survey research design contributed to the success of obtaining the required

data for the research problem. Nevertheless, the methodology section of this

research should have a separate part for the Review of Related Literature to make

the readers stay focus on the central research question.

III. In the Results

The authors presented a very comprehensive discussions of the results. All tables

were properly explained. In addition to their explanations, the following

recommendations should also be included:

In support to the explanation in the different tables, they should add implications

and add parallel studies which have the same result to support the discussions in

each tables.

In addition to the discussions of the tables having P-value, it should be related to

the criteria so that the readers of the research know whether or not the statement of

the problem is answered or not.

The following criteria should be used:

P < 0.05, reject Ho, accept Ha

P < 0.05, accept Ho, reject Ha

IV. In the Conclusion

The authors gave a stimulating and informative conclusion leaving the reader well-

informed and well-satisfied. The conclusions were based on the findings and

logically stated. The conclusions were able to answer the research question and it

was clearly stated that the problem was solved. It strongly suggests that the need to

use a home computer and internet connection nowadays greatly affects students’

academic performance and that if possible all of us should be abreast with this new

trend in educational setting.

V. Overall Critique

This research is qualified as a good research. It obtained many of the good

characteristics of a research. For the most part, it was well written, well organized

and well explained. However, there was just a definite need to include some of the

parts of a research that are not included in the research paper. The Abstract,

Limitations of the Study, Review of Related Literature and Recommendations

should be included.
