Second week

Teaching
During the course of second week of internship. I as a teaching official explored and learned
the basic functioning of NGO along with the teaching method used by faculty over there. In
this week my focus area was to settle down myself in the teaching process of the NGO, the
senior officials of the NGO assigned me to teach general subjects to the 3rd standard.

The class consist of around 20 students, which includes 13 boys and 7 girls. The children
mainly belong to nearby family who are economically deprived. Their parents are mainly
daily labourers and goes out for work that is time when they left their wards at NGO who
takes care of them.

Out of my experience of teaching in tuitions and centres earlier this experience was really
new as these children were of tender age and required special attention. My first day of
teaching went literally awesome, In beginning I was quiet nervous in handling them but when
I introduced myself to them in different manner and go to know them one by one.

The children started responding to me. And, now I attained my confidence and introduce
them to some Basic English and Hindi words. Which were related to their name for example
(I asked a girl named “Aarti” meaning of her name and of word ‘Art’) Students started
responding to me really well and that’s how the day ended. On the subsequent days of week,
I introduced them to fruit chart and their names in English and Hindi and basic additions in
mathematics. Along with these three elementary subjects I also introduced them to moral
values which included good manners like, greeting of teachers and their parents and also
good relation with the peer groups.
Basically in this week I have done the teaching process in the NGO and this was the good
experience for me as I am going to be a professional teacher.

Working hour of NGO is 6 hours which is divided in two shifts (9 a.m. to 12 p.m.) and (1
p.m. to 4 p.m.).

everyone was very much excited to give the answer of the question. And then I start teaching

Saturday: On Saturday I don’t want to teach them and students are also don’t want to study

This week was very interesting and full of enjoyment for me also and for the students also.
