Project details:- The meaning of heat exchanger is that to transfer the heat between flowing fluids
.The main objective of the project to do analysis of ground coupled heat exchanger used to improve
the efficiency of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems .This project is a way to
“green technology for greener world.” The problem in today’s world for air conditioning is high
electricity consumption. In our project we will be using the earth energy to lower the temperature
(from atmospheric temp. to 22-27˚c) for conditioning the air of the room environment.Air blower
will be the energy consuming item in our system and as solar is coupled with the system; blower will
receive the electricity from solar and will run free of cost.As for the night usage, there is a battery
which will store the energy from the solar panel and supply power it during entire night, which will
also save energy (electricity). The main components of our system are – Blower, HDPE pipe, solar
panel, dehumidifier, and humidifier.

Project details:-India has announced a project of making 100 smart cities. For making a smart city
one needs to consider many parameters such as smart water, smart electricity, smart
transportation etc. There will be a need of smart underground infrastructure which includes
underground water pipelines, communication cables, gas pipelines, electric flow, etc. As most of the
cities in India have adopted underground drainage system, it is very important that this system
should work in a proper manner to keep the city clean, safe and healthy. If they fail to maintain the
drainage system the pure water may get contaminated with drainage water and can spread
infectious diseases. So different kind of work has been done to detect, maintain and manage these
underground systems. Also, leaks and bursts are unavoidable aspects of water distribution system
management and can account for significant water loss within a distribution network if left
undetected for long period. This project represents the implementation and design functions for
monitoring and managing underground drainage system with different approaches. It also gives a
description of water wise system and detection method to detect leakage defects in sewer pipeline.

2. Project Title: “Design and fabrication of overhanging 3D printer”

Guided by: Prof. Jaydeep R. Shah

Student Details: Sr. No. Name EN. No.

1 Gohil Daxesh P. 150450119031

2 Gohil Vishal B. 150450119048

3 Gurung Suraj P. 150450119050

4 Raj Tejendra M. 160453119038

Project Details: -This is our approach to design and fabricate overhanging 3D printer. Our 3D
printer is first of its kind in India. Our 3D printer uses FDM technology of 3d printing, in which we
use solid thermoplastic material which is then melted and deposited through extruder mechanism to
create physical objects. In our 3d printer the mechanism is attached to ceiling and the extruder
mechanism is kept hanging to print the object. Our 3D printer provides more printing volume unlike
other 3D printers available in current market, and that’s why it can be more revolutionary in industry
for 3d printing larger parts. Our 3D printer is Raprap type 3d printer in which 3d printed parts are
used to make another 3d printer. Our main objective is to remove the constrain of volume present in
current 3D printers. It took us Rs.20,000 to complete this project. In future we are planning to make it
movable so it can be easily accessible to other users. Our project has been granted Rs. 75,000 under
Student Start up and Innovation Policy (SSIP) of GTU.

3. Project Title: Development of FDM based 3D Printer for Continuous Production

Guided by: Prof. Jaydeep Shah
Student details:

Project Details: In this project new methodology is developed for mass production in additive
manufacturing. A new mechanism is developed and integrated into a Delta 3D Printer. This new
mechanism enables a process of mass/continuous production in additive manufacturing. This project
is divided into two phases, in Phase-I by using different mechanical and electronics parts and
accessories a Delta 3D Printer is developed that can print a 3D object by using FDM method of 3D
printing with build size 300*300*180 mm and Nozzle diameter 0.4mm. Then in Phase-II a belt
conveyor is used to enable the mass production, at the end of printing process of an individual part
belt conveyor rotates and with the help of ejector tool 3D Printed part is automatically ejected. A
process of printing for a new part continues after previous part without any human intervention. We
have applied and successfully selected for SSIP Grant through GTU of Rs. 30,000 in SSIP-6,
screening that happened on 19th & 20th December 2018.

Best Three B.E. Final year Project

Project title: “3E-SMART BICYCLE”

Guided by: Prof. Amit V. Shah

Student details:

Sr. No. Name EN. No.

1 Mehul Manubarwala 140450119057

2 Bhavin Shah 150450119014

3 Safwan Kureshi 150450119062

4 Manish Maurya 150453119072

Project Details:

This is our first very approach to fabricate an electric bicycle. This bicycle consists of a hub motor of
250W and 24V mounted on the rear wheel with help of chains and sprockets. It comprises of a solar
panel to utilize the solar energy to charge batteries. The dynamos run the auxiliary components like
lights and horns. The unique feature of our electric bicycle is that it has mechanism to change the tilt
angle of the solar panel. The results that our project got is that its average speed during testing was 20
km/hr with 65 km distance covered and 110.53Whr. The cost per cycle would be 19,150 rupees if the
production will be mass then its cost could be reduce easily. We have published two research papers
that is in IJSRD-2018 & ICRITDME-2019.

NPTEL Online Certification Course
Course: Work System Design

Participant Name: Tandel Krunal Thakorbhai

Start Date: 16/7/2018 Completion Date: 28/10/2018

Details: Work System Design is one of the online courses (12 week) under the National Programme
on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL) organized by IIT, Roorkee. Work System Design deals
with the systematic examination of the methods of doing work with an aim of finding the means of
effective and efficient use of resources and setting up of standards of performance for the work being
carried out. This is required to have an in-depth analysis of all the elements, factors, resources and
relationships affecting the efficiency and effectiveness of the work being studied. The course also
aims at scientifically establishing the time required for a qualified worker to carry out a work element
at a defined rate of working. Ergonomic aspects of work system design are also included in the
course contents. The scope of this course is not only limited to the manufacturing applications but it
is also relevant for service sector industry.
