DISCUSSION
A. Simple Present Tense
a. Present Tense
Simple Present Tense is a change in the form of verbs that are used to express events,
activities and so on that occur at this time. Present Tense is also used to express a fact,
or something that happens repeatedly in the present. In English Present Tense or Simple
Present Tense is used to express events or events, activities, and so on that occur at this
time. Present Tense is also used to express a fact, or something that happens repeatedly
in the past. Remember, present meaning is now.
Formula :
 Positif: S + V1 (s/es)
 Negatif: S + DO/DOES + NOT + V1
 Question: DO/DOES + S + V1 ?
Example:
 (+) The Nurse checks vital sign everyday
 (-) The Nurse doesn’t check vital sign everyday
 (?) Does the nurse check vital sign everyday ?

b. Present Continous Tense

Present Continuous Tense is a change in the form of a verb that is used to express the
current events that are happening now.
Formula :
 Positif: S + Tobe + Ving
 Negatif: S + Tobe+ Not+ Ving

c. Present Perfect Tense
Present Perfect Tense is a change in the form of a verb that is used to express an action
or event that has been completed at the present time. Let's continue the English lesson
about this Present Perfect Tense. The Present Tense emphasizes facts, repetitive events
or that becomes a habit, and the Present Continuous Tense emphasizes "being"
happening, then. Present Perfect Tense emphasizes the PERFECT. Perfect doesn't
mean "perfect". It's not perfect because it's beautiful like Gita Gutawa, but it's perfect
which means "finished, already, done, just finished, etc.". So, if you emphasize the
"ALREADY", then use this Present Perfect Tense. The most striking example is: He
just left (She has just gone).
Formula :
 Positif: S + have/has + V3
 Negatif: S + have/has Not + V3
 Question : Have/has + S + V3 ?

Example :

 Doctor has visited patient for 30 minutes

 Doctor hasn’t visited patient for 30 minutes
 Has Doctor visited patient for 30 minutes ?
B. Simple Past Tense
Simple Past Tense is a change in the form of a verb used to express an event, an event that
has occurred. The essence of Past Tense is to express events that have been "Past". In the
past, it didn't have to be too long, the point had passed, it was past. That is the emphasis.
Maybe yesterday, one hour ago, two years ago, two centuries ago, and so on. All of that is
"Past".
Formula :
 Positif: S + V2
 Negatif: S + did not + V1
 Question : Did + S + V1 ?

3
Example :

 Nina checked the womb yesterday

 Nina didn’t check the womb yesterday
 Did Nina check the womb yesterday ?

C. Simple Future Tense

Simple Future Tense is a change in the form of the verb used to express the event that will
occur. The meaning of the word Future is "Future". Therefore in Future Tense the use of
the word Will, Shall which means it will surely dominate.Still remember the distribution
of Tenses in outline right? Yes, there are 3 big Tenses, namely: Past, Present and Future
(First, Now, Later). Every Future must use WILL or SHALL, meaning WILL. But there is
also the name Past Future Tense later. Because Past then Will and Shall use the past as
well, namely "Would", we will learn more deeply in Past Future Tense. Oh yes, after Will
or Shall or Would follow the form 1 whether it's a verb or an auxiliary verb.
Formula :
 Positif: S + will + V1
 Negatif: S + will + not + V1
 Question : Will + S + V1 ?
Example :
 Doctor will do a cessarean section tomorrow
 Doctor will not do a cesarean section tomorrow
 Will Doctor do a cesarean section tomorrow?
