2. On the condition that power is off and there is no TRU output power, switch open the connector

between the end of amplified output power and AEM module, connect with power meter and high

power load.

Note: Attention: one 100W microwave power load is needed when there is no antenna;

otherwise, no load is required.

3. Switch on the power, add excited output TRU and read the power in frequency bands (GSM900:

925 MHz~960MHz, GSM1800: 1805 MHz ~1880MHz). When the power is full, read output

power and gain flatness rate.

104
Chapter 4 BTS Half-yearly Routine Maintenance

[Normal result]
Output power is required to be over 40W and gain flatness rate less than 0.5dB.
[Troubleshooting]

1. For base stations BTS (V2.0) with a power of 80W, if amplified output power cannot satisfy

technical conditions, it is advisable to first check if the TRU output level is within the specified

scope; if TRU output level is normal, then it may be the fault of the amplifier.

2. The common problem in amplifiers is that power amplifier module (upper level) and end level

amplifier tube are damaged. The symptom is low gain with output power decrease. If so, replace

the module where the power amplifier is located.

[Test recovery]
