APPLICATIONS

The following prices provide an indication of the charges and deposits that may apply to
customers wishing to have a Major New Connection. A major new connection is one where:
• the demand is greater than 5MVA

• the site includes embedded generation of greater than 30kW

Prices for services associated with major new connections will vary depending on the
complexity of the works required. These charges and deposits should be read in conjunction
with the customer initiated works for commercial developments customer process guide. For
charges relating to photovoltaic installations refer to the following documents.
• Guidelines for photovoltaic installations up to 200kW.

• Guidelines for photovoltaic installations greater than 200kW.

Prices exclude applicable Goods and Services Tax (GST).

Description Price

Technical Enquiry Charge $500

Where information on our system is required, we may impose a non-refundable

Technical Enquiry Charge. This charge is dependent on the complexity of the
enquiry. Enquiries where information is readily available and does not require
further assessment does not normally attract a charge. If charges do apply,
they must be paid before the enquiry can progress

Network Capability Assessment Deposit^ $1,500*

A Network Capability Assessment for major new connections allows us to:

• understand the network’s ability to handle the proposed connection
• provides a high-level description of the works required to
complete the connection and a rough estimate of cost.

Network Technical Study Deposit^ $10,000*

A Network Technical Study for major new connections identifies:

• the preferred option for system augmentation and connection
• the costs for design
• estimated costs for construction for this work to be undertaken.

The study will be provided with a Conditional Preliminary Offer to Connect

including connection terms and conditions and the indicative costs for design
charges, communications charges and other applicable charges.

Detailed Design Deposit^ 7 – 10% of

total
A Detailed Design Deposit may be required and is calculated based on the project
project cost quoted in the Formal Offer to Connect. cost

Note:
This amount is an indication only and will vary depending on the complexity of the
application.

All deposits must be paid prior to the application progressing. All deposits paid are credited
towards the final total connection costs (including costs of preliminary design work). Deposits
paid for applications that do not proceed to construction are non-recoverable.
