To God Almighty I give all the Glory, Honour and Adoration for the opportunity he gave to me
to be the President of this great and wonderful association and for standing before this honorable
gathering. I remember the adage which says “when the going gets tough only the tough get
going”. The journey of a thousand miles started somewhere and with endurance and
perseverance you will surely get there. MUSAN OAU Chapter has really opened my eyes to see
beyond myself.
I chose greatness over success that was why I am here writing this piece today. To the glory of
God Almighty, the creator and maker of mankind and what is therein between the earth and
heaven.
Success is more easily attainable than greatness. You may be a successful businessman,
politician or professional but greatness is not for everyone. But I think I learnt the secret of
greatness, you will only be great if you devote your life, and your efforts, to serve other.
It is not gainsaying that when the outgoing executives came on board the association was nothing
to write home about but with God on our side we are bold to say we now have a transformed
association in her state of fulfillment and optimum accomplishment. This is not to say we have
really achieved all what we have in mind but at least to some level we are proud of our
achievement.
The 365 + 90 days of paddling the ship of this Great association, a lot had happened of which
they have served as lessons to us and lot of decisions taken, which has directly and indirectly
imparted us in making our dream a reality. We thank Lord for taking us this far.
This day officially marked my last day in office as Executive President, and while I am happy to
be done, I look back on the entire year with much pleasure and satisfaction. Having the
opportunity to serve the good students of Department of music, OAU for an entire year has been
very rewarding. I truly felt like I was able to play an integral part in the shaping of this growing
department, and I only have the highest hopes for its future.
It neither was just like yesterday when it all started, on 18th January, 2018 after winning the
election where there was no victor nor vanquish but a true reflection of what God almighty has
ordained. I thought it was the end of the journey to the presidency but not knowing this is the
beginning of the real responsibilities saddled upon us which has to be deliver within a journey of
The keen preparations began which encompasses creation of a dream as none as existed before to
give us a purpose and promising vision for Our Great association. Different consultations were
made, at different levels, on different ends, with different stakeholders to have a complete set of
data for testing all initial hypothesis of the team whose task is enormous.
Before moving further in this submission, I want to acknowledge and respect all decisions that
have been took before we came and got the opportunity to pilot the affair of this noble
association, the amiable past Presidents and their teams that have added their quotas in the last
decades. They have driven the vehicle down to where we picked it, as uneasy lies the head that
If not for them, the thought of a new direction might not have come. They have work through
thick and thin to get us to where we found us the day we picked to reformulate and redefine our
core values, objectives, and purpose together with a vision branded to be for all and against none.
We have also contributed our quotas as impact on the lead and good influences remain core
throughout the administration. More of our concentration lies in Student Welfare. We can all
attest to that.
The struggle is a continuous process. ALUTA continua. As the newly elected Executives got
inaugurated today. I am wishing them best of luck as they’re planning ahead in making things
better for the MUSAN. They should look inward and outward on what we have not touched and
To the MUSANITES, more of your support is also needed and as we’ve always been known to
be peaceful and law abiding. Your full participation will also reduce to give what you’ve always

To the incoming executive members the race have started and I want you to know that only those
who are able to stand fit and strong to finish the race will receive the reward. What you need to
be successful in your respective office is commitment and perseverance. If you are committed
and you persevere I believe you will come out successful after your tenure in office and you will
I believe you all have what it takes to be a leader in this association and I don’t have much to tell
you but all the same be committed and trustworthy. Make yourself available at every meeting
and don’t take a decision without the consent of other executive members. We are one and we
I love you all and I appreciate you for the support and the courage you gave me. For as many that
I might have offended in one way or the other I want to use this medium to seek your indulgence
to forgive all my short comings as you all know that no one is perfect. I am not perfect I am just
This wonderful write up would be incomplete if I fail to appreciate the brains behind the success
of this administration.
My acknowledgement wouldn’t have complete if I refuse to mention the fantastic team of mine
that I was opportune to work with at the apex student body of the Department of music during
the 2017/2018 academic session. If not for this great team’s humility and dedication to service,
this project which is primary and the service to students wouldn’t have been a successful project
all in all. Agbasi Abidemi Olumide, Agbaje Hannah Oluwaseyanu, Akpanadiaha Johnson
Oluwaseun, Aniki Bezaleel, Olubamiji Sunday, Ogunde Samuel Abimbola. I cannot but just
mention these names as they have patiently work with me and understand me for whom I am.
Special mention and appreciations goes to the Honourables at the FASA level, who are
representing MUSAN for their wonderful work and diligent representation of students from their
constituency this academic year, thanks for believing in the vision. You’ve all perform
wonderfully well and thanks for understanding with me throughout the time I am attending to the
primary assignment in line with the call of service. I would like to mention some names that have
stood ground to ensure the success of the administration which I led and in making us a better
person by the responsibility saddled upon us, thanks for the opportunity given to serve and all the
support through my time, without your cooperation we wouldn’t have been here given this
thank you for your fatherly advice all through your time in office and for the opportunity you’ve
given to us to write our names in the heart of our people in gold. And also the Staff Adviser, Dr.
S. E. O. Abiodun (Baba for the boys) who we happened to serve as we are rounding up has been
very good to our finishing well in office, I pray for God guidance and wisdom throughout your

better for our dear members and taken our welfare as a priority.
